The Mountain Home campus of Arkansas State offers associate's degrees and career certificates in preparation for careers in Business, Dental Hygiene, Funeral Science, Nursing, Respiratory Care and Welding, among others. A General Studies degree is also awarded for those who wish to transfer to a four-year university. Mountain Home's programs are intended to accommodate students from all economic and social backgrounds. Newport's Career Pathways fulfills this commitment by providing comprehensive educational and career training for low-income parents. Students in this program have access to childcare, tuition assistance, tutoring and other services. Newport also has adult education programs, which help students to learn basic math skills, English skills and/or prepare for the GED. All Newport students have access to career services and academic support as well as such student activities as a minority support group, sports and student government. Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
