Jean has been in the Damage Prevention industry for over 40 years. Most recently, Jean was Director of Outside Plant Engineering and Construction for AT&T that included networks in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Jean also served twenty two years on the board of directors of Arkansas 811, including two years as board president. His board leadership was key to creating ARKUPS in 1998. Jean joined ARKUPS in 2014 as General Manager - Support Operations and was appointed CEO Arkansas 811 and ARKUPS in 2019.

Jean is a graduate of Henderson State University of Arkansas, where he earned a degree in Business Management. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arkansas. He completed Executive Management programs in Telecommunications at the University of Southern California.

Meredith Matyja has 25 years of experience in management, strategic financial planning, and analyzing company’s financial strengths and weaknesses. She has been the Chief Financial Officer for over 16 years for both Arkansas Utility Protection Services, Inc. and Arkansas 811.

Meredith has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Business with emphasis in Accounting and Minor in Politics from Hendrix College, Conway.

Pay, management, benefits, rules that they bend to their benefit, no management support, EXTREMELY stressful, pitiful raises, take away holidays on a whim, hardly any PTO given, always told to work overtime and can’t have a life.
