Arlington Orthopedic Associates company history timeline

1936

In 1936, two orthopaedic surgeons, Edmund Vance and Alexander Hamilton, conceived the idea of a specialty group for Australian members of their profession.

1937

A series of meetings with eight other surgeons followed over the next six months and at a meeting on 27 April 1937, fifteen orthopaedic surgeons were declared Foundation Members of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

1938

The first Annual General Meeting was held on 21 March 1938.

1941

As noted elsewhere in this book, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) was founded in 1941.

1942

In 1942, the ACOS annual meeting was included into the Annual Clinical Assembly of Osteopathic Specialists.

1946

In 1946, the ACOS andAOA established residency program standards, In just two years, there were 19 hospitals with training programs.

1950

In 1950, with the direction of the AOA, the ACOS established a Registry of Training Programs.

1956

The AOA approved this document in 1956.

1966

Certification in orthopedic surgery initially evolved from the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Whereby there was orthopedic representation on that board that directed and guided the certification process for orthopedic surgery beginning in 1966.

1976

The Award of Fellow In 1976, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics began to honor longstanding and senior members of the organization for special achievement.

The recertification examination was developed and administered by the AOBOS, Certification issuf,Jd before 1994 was not time limited.

1996

Founded in 1996 under the name of Arlington Orthopedic Associates, AOA Orthopedic Specialists embarked one critical mission: to provide the best scientifically researched technology and care to the patients of Arlington, TX and the neighboring communities.

1999

Since 1999, Colton has served as director of medical communications at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

2000

Doctor Rosenblatt received his B.A. in Biology from Rutgers College in 2001.

2007

In 2007, it was decided to merge the content of the AOAO Newsletter with The Orthopod and launch a revamped, full-color version ofthe magazine, with Scott Colton acting as both editor and graphic designer.

2010

In 2010, due to growing staff numbers, the Association sold the Macquarie Street premises and moved to modern offices at 45 Clarence Street.

Since its passage in 2010, the ACA has helped nearly 20 million Americans who previously couldn’t afford or qualify for traditional policies get access to health insurance.

2016

But making these comparisons with 16,000 procedure codes for the 70,000 patients it expects to see before the end of 2016 was complicated.
