We are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious Senior Manager to lead and grow our Manufacturing & Distribution (M&D) team within the Mid Market Outsourcing practice in key geographic areas. Job Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and motivate a diverse team of Managers and staff across multiple clients on the M&D team, fostering a high-performing, ambitious, and growth-oriented culture.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee monthly finance and accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services by client and outsourcing staff.
Serve as the SME for M&D operational accounting, including inventory receiving, costing, ordering, and three-way matching purchase order processes.
Partner with clients to solve complex operational and accounting challenges, providing guidance, training, and coaching to managers and senior staff.
Oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.
Perform detailed reviews of periodic client-use only and compiled financial statements and supporting schedules.
Act as liaison on behalf of clients with external auditors, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Support the onboarding of new clients, including allocation of resources, training, and work assignment planning.
Collaborate with professional sellers and solution architects to support market-facing initiatives and business development efforts, including pricing, proposal development, and client meetings.
Participate in system implementation and optimization projects, including extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Intacct) in a manufacturing & distribution context, with proven ability to manage operational accounting challenges.
Drive staff career growth as a performance coach, sharing expertise, developing skills, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Operate independently, set strategic priorities, and navigate complex or ambiguous situations with confidence.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, combining public accounting or consulting with manufacturing and distribution industry exposure.
Minimum 2 years leading teams in a results-driven environment.
Hands-on experience with financial reporting, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and US GAAP compliance.
Demonstrated ability to tackle complex operational accounting challenges and guide teams to solutions.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Intacct) in an M&D context.
Ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset with interest in client-facing business development opportunities.
Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person at our Dallas or Chicago office half the time.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CMA designation.
Prior experience in a Controller, VP of Finance, or senior operational accounting role in M&D.
