Armstrong World Industries (AWI) is currently seeking a Boardmill Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team in Pensacola, FL.

As our Boardmill Production Supervisor, you will provide management, coordination, and continuous improvement for all aspects of the manufacturing process, including cost targets, schedule adherence, quality processes, manufacturing process capability, manpower, maintenance integration, and product development initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

* Executing the Managing Daily Improvement process
* Providing employee training and development
* Utilizing problem-solving tools and methodologies to improve operational results
* Executing projects from Value Stream teams
* Providing countermeasure follow-up and completion of special causes
* Coordinating daily maintenance activities for manufacturing operation and activities around major shutdowns and holiday periods
* Integrating maintenance and production work around down-days, including prioritizing the work and scheduling production activities
* Integrating operations with production planning; raw material flow, inventory, packaging, quality of material, and GIP
* Identifying and planning for manpower requirements, overtime, and maintenance
* Coordinating new product development (NPD) activities
* Developing, improving, documenting, and deploying coordination processes and performance metrics
* Developing and improving internal plant communication processes between operations, maintenance, lab, logistics, and ABPT
* Developing and improving manpower utilization processes
* Driving improvements in operations through effective down-day planning and execution
* Managing completion of RCFAs within manufacturing operation

What will make you successful:

* Bachelor's degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience in first-line supervision with an emphasis on process improvement
* 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
* Previous experience with software such as Excel, Word, SAP, Access, Clarity, etc.
* Thorough knowledge of plant business system processes, such as work order process, raw material flow, project planning, production, down-day planning, work rules, union contract
* Working knowledge of process improvement methods
* Ability to act as shift Relief Supervisor and Relief Team Manager

Desired qualifications:

* Technical knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 8 Step Problem-Solving
* Previous experience with Minitab

Overview

Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager with frequent guidance from a Team Leader, this position is to be responsible for performing a variety of tasks critical to executing the safe operation of highly automated manufacturing equipment in accordance with company guidelines and customer requirements. Performance of these tasks is critical to the Safety, Quality, Reliability and Cost of the plant production lines. The plant runs continuously 24 hours a day 5 days a week. Associates can expect to work weekly rotating shifts and are eligible for shift pay and overtime pay. New associates will enter into a 6 month probationary period.

Shift example:

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 2:45pm-12:45am; Overtime (as needed) Friday 2:45pm-12:45am

3rd Shift: Monday night - Friday morning 9pm-7am; Overtime (as needed) Sunday night - Monday morning 9pm-7am

Our Process

The ceiling tile manufacturing process includes running and monitoring machines that cut, size, paint and package ceiling tiles and shipping finished products to customers. Everyone must work at keeping his or her work areas and the plant, orderly, clean and safe. We celebrate safety as our most important work standard. We have well defined safety start up and shut down operations for all equipment and we train all operators on these crucial processes.

The Sales Manager (Integrated Solutions Sales Manager's (ISSM)) primary role is to take leadership of regional teams to find, develop and close opportunities to sell WAVE's entire solutions portfolio. Qualified individuals will work closely with their local Installation System Specialist, Design Service Center, Distributor team, and Contractor Community (General Contractor and Sub-Contractor) to develop opportunities within the market. This position will leverage available resources in the current commercially focused playbook to increase exposure to WAVE integrated solutions on high impact projects. The incumbent will need to articulate the benefits gained by using our entire WAVE integrated solution offering to the Armstrong area sales representatives, external customers, and contractors.

Summary

The Sales Manager's ( Integrated Solutions Sales Manager's (ISSM) ) primary role is to take leadership of regional teams to find, develop and close opportunities to sell WAVE's entire solutions portfolio. Qualified individuals will work closely with their local Installation System Specialist, Design Service Center, Distributor team, and Contractor Community (General Contractor and Sub-Contractor) to develop opportunities within the market. He/She will promote our total ceiling solution value proposition by creating project-specific solutions geared toward project influencers (estimators, project managers, field installers).

This position will leverage available resources in the current commercially focused playbook to increase exposure to WAVE integrated solutions on high impact projects. He/She will need to articulate the benefits gained by using our entire WAVE integrated solution offering to the Armstrong area sales representatives, external customers, and contractors.

This will be a remote role with roughly 30% travel. Minimal travel currently and will return to normal travel next year or when safe. Consistently profitable company, excellent leadership and company culture. The ideal location of this person would be in Columbus, Ohio

Responsibilities

* Grow profitable sales of WAVE Integrated Solutions that meet/exceed regional sales budgets by focusing on key contractors and projects within region.
* Act as the WAVE product expert within the sales team for Drywall Grid, Axiom and Structural Grid solutions.
* Generate proposals for WAVE solutions including technical performance, financial impact, and integration advantages.
* Build relationships and influence end-users to purchase WAVE products through solution selling. End user examples: Distributors, general contractors, sub-contractors & developers
* Support and drive sales of newly developed WAVE products, including creating selling aids, technical input, and internal/external product education.
* Provide all the necessary reporting to the business to track and monitor progress as well as sales forecasting. (i.e.SalesForce.com)
* Continuously improving through individual and team learning and development initiatives.
* Conduct competitive market intelligence, analyze, and adjust positioning to grow market share.
* Analyze territory performance (sales, volume, pricing) to formulate regional best practices for area sales teams and distributor customers to enhance WAVE integrated sales
* Identify and develop adjacent business partnerships that add to the WAVE integrated solution sales strategy.

Desired Experience

* 3 plus years of experience in interior Construction (installer / foreman / superintendent / estimator / project manager / project engineer), or Field Sales Manager
* Sound understanding of the construction process
* Ability to read and understand all related construction documentation
* Broad understanding and ability to identify on-site construction activities that lead to more efficient installation methods
* Strong communication skills and reports pertinent information at key milestones through clear, concise oral and written communication.

Overview

Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager with frequent guidance from a Team Leader, this position is to be responsible for performing a variety of tasks critical to executing the safe operation of highly automated manufacturing equipment in accordance with company guidelines and customer requirements. Performance of these tasks is critical to the Safety, Quality, Reliability and Cost of the plant production lines. The plant runs continuously 24 hours a day 5 days a week. Associates can expect to work weekly rotating shifts and are eligible for shift pay and overtime pay. New associates will enter into a 6 month probationary period.

Shift example:

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday 2:45pm-12:45am; Overtime (as needed) Friday 2:45pm-12:45am

Our Process

The ceiling tile manufacturing process includes running and monitoring machines that cut, size, paint and package ceiling tiles and shipping finished products to customers. Everyone must work at keeping his or her work areas and the plant, orderly, clean and safe. We celebrate safety as our most important work standard. We have well defined safety start up and shut down operations for all equipment and we train all operators on these crucial processes.

* Perform material handling of raw materials, Goods In Process and finished goods, safely

Environment and Physical Requirements

* Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, grabbing, pulling, carrying, going up and down

stairs/catwalks.

* Dusty, wet environment that is not climate controlled.

* Must be able to rotate through all core positions

Qualifications
