What is an army ranger and how to become one

An army ranger is a military professional with the army branch of the United States military. They are combat experts that specialize in conducting raids behind enemy lines. Army rangers are also referred to as 75th Ranger Regiment.

Army rangers go on three different types of missions. The first is special operations raids, which are raids that are designed to seize, destroy, or capture enemy assets or locations. The second type of mission is called forcible entry operations in which army rangers take control of transportation grounds, such as enemy airfields.

Lastly, army rangers go on what are called special reconnaissance missions. The objective of these ventures is to gather intelligence on the enemy's strengths, weaknesses, resources, firepower, and other strategic measurements.

An army ranger's skill set involves knowledge and aptitude concerning rifles, machine guns, sniper weapons, explosives, stealth movements, and sabotaging enemy resources and vehicles. They also must be physically fit and possess solid vision and hearing.

To become an army ranger, you must go through rigorous training. Before training, though, you must first pass a Ranger Assessment and Selection (RASP) test in order to be considered eligible. Passing this test sees candidates attend a severely difficult training experience at the Army Ranger School. You must also be at least 18 years of age, a United States citizen, and eligible for a secret security clearance.
