Cons of working at Goshen General Hospital Auxiliary Inc

Management at all levels; they do not care about front line workers. As much as upper management says that patient care comes first, for upper management it doesn’t. They will gladly, and readily, compromise patient care over and over and over again just to save a buck. And it doesn’t matter whether you’re with housekeeping there, or if you’re a physician there, the lack of care from upper management is the same across ALL of its employees at all levels of employment at ALL of their locations. That’s why there was a mass exodus of physicians from there 5-10 years ago...world renowned physicians...physicians who were leaders in their fields in research, whose patients loved and trusted them, and who were responsible for cementing the amazingly great reputation that Clarian Health, and then IU Health, had throughout the country for a decent amount of years, a substantial undertaking for a “hospital in Indiana” (Needless to say, IU Health no longer has that esteemed reputation throughout the country now as it use to, which is such a same as it didn’t have to be like it is, and it’s even more of a shame because it was all out of the greed of upper management.)...physicians that you DO NOT let leave, that you do anything and everything possible to keep them happy and keep them there. It is so bad there that nurses, yes REGISTERED RNs, would just stop showing up for their scheduled shifts. They would just abruptly quit, and IU Health wouldn’t hear from them ever again. And that happened multiple, multiple times. When I obtained and completed additional education and was looking for a new position to account for this, I did not even peek at the open positions that IU Health had, not even out of curiosity. In fact, if I was unable to find a position at a location/employer aside from IU Health, I would’ve gone so far as to move out of the state, just to avoid taking another position at IU Health. It is that bad of a working environment there.

There use to be quite a bit of employee discounts that you could get at various businesses around the central Indiana/Indianapolis area, including discounted tickets for special events (Pacers tickets, Colts tickets, etc.), however over the years the employee discounts that you could receive being an employee of IU Health have dwindled to basically nothing, nothing at all.
