As a Project Architect at Arquitectonica, you will work on a variety of projects and be involved in the design, documentation, and construction of our projects. Roles and Responsibilities:
Understand both architectural design and documentation processes, including all project stages.
Develop, prepare and coordinate presentation and documentation materials
Develop and produce construction documents and detail sketches
Generate and execute red-lined revisions
Collaborate and coordinate with project consultants
Analyze and prepare program, space planning and area calculations
Work independently and with your team to meet project budgetary and schedule constraints
Participation in regular project team, client and contractor meetings
Regular communication with the designated Project Manager
Construction Administration experience and capabilities preferred but not required
Minimum Requirements:
Professional accredited degree in Architecture
5+ years' continuous professional post-graduate working experience
Technical experience using Revit and BIM360 including:
Use of Multiple Worksets and Grouping
Awareness of Visibility Graphics and View Templates
General Knowledge of Publishing, Packaging, and Consuming Models
Ability to use 3D modeling software, including Rhino
Familiarity with Microsoft Project and Bluebeam Revu
Experience in all phases and aspects of a project
Experience in detailing and construction documentation
Experience with multifamily and mixed-use projects; office experience is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required to interact with clients and team members
Problem solving skills, attention to detail, motivation to learn

Position Responsibilities
Contributes to SOM's vision by enabling clear communication among team members, consultants and clients. Promote professional relationships internally and externally.
Supports the project lead to document project communications, file and organize project documents and disseminate project information with the project team.

Minimum Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture or Civil/Structural Engineering.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A proven work ethic and the ability to anticipate project, client and team needs, service oriented, initiate decisions and coordinate the activities of others.

Position Overview
Lead the Los Angeles Interiors practice in collaboration with other Los Angeles Studio leaders and collaborate with other Interior practice leaders across the firm. 1) Leadership:

Position Responsibilities
● Collaborates with the MEP engineering studio and other design studios in delivering/documenting green building technologies and strategies for their projects.
● Performs analysis is of day lighting and solar radiation for building and master planning projects.
● Performs energy simulations to assess overall building energy performance.
● Understands the basics of heat transfer and how it impacts envelope design.
● Performs basic calculation to assess applicability of renewable technologies and relative energy yields.
● Remains current on issues related to sustainable and green building design, US Green Building activities and various versions of the LEED Green Building Rating System.
● Remains current on the development of new sustainability rating systems.
● Remains current on energy savings and renewable technologies.
● Performs graphic tasks as required.
● Prepares sustainability presentations and written reports.
Minimum Qualifications
● Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, environmental engineering or other related field is required; Master's Degree in architecture, engineering, environmental engineering or other related field is preferred.
● LEED accreditation preferred.
● Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable and green building design and/or construction.
● Demonstrated knowledge and use of the LEED Green Building Rating System and/or other green building rating systems.
● Demonstrated ability to perform independent research.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills and commitment to work within the integrated design team structure.
● Demonstrated experience with building simulation tools such as EnergyPlus, Radiance, Diva, Ecotect, Virtual Environment, and/or computational fluid dynamics software programs.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino, PowerPoint, Excel, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
● BIM experience preferable (Revit Digital Projects and Rhino).

Position Responsibilities
Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a project level.
Demonstrates a developing understanding of professional service agreements (SOM-Client Services Agreement, SOM Sub-consutlant Agreements). Assists with monitoring contract scope and identifying and executing additional service agreements.
Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the interior architecture process from concept development through project closeout. This includes experience with programming, space planning, design development, material and finish selection, documentation, coordination with consultants, and construction administration. Possesses a clear grasp of how design intent is maintained throughout all project phases and ensures alignment with client goals, budget, and schedule.
Collaborates with the team to confirm labor allocation and participates in weekly team meetings to coordinate progress and maintain project alignment.
Supports owner/client relationship and expectations to allow SOM and team to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively.
Supports Senior Project Manager to initiate, monitor and maintain project schedule and work plan including schedule of meetings, and presentations.
Supports Senior Project Manager and contributes to responses for Request for Proposals (RFPs), including outlining scope, schedule and fees for proposed projects.
Effective at communicating and promoting the work of the firm.
Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and office.
Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means.
Leadership Responsibilities

Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Suite (including, sheets and docs preferred), MS Office Suites (word and excel), Bluebeam, Slack, Miro.
Familiarity with Deltek Vision, Salesforce
