Working with us, you will: Lead medical planning efforts for healthcare projects and work with the project team in the development of projects under the direction of a Senior Planner. Work with the design and planning lead to develop and detail building systems and components, beginning in schematic design through construction documents. Contribute to the schematic design of projects and be responsible for functional aspects of the proposed solutions. Collaborate and coordinate with designers, project architects, specialty consultants and engineers in the production of drawings and specifications. Conduct analyses of long-term healthcare facility needs and develop solutions involving construction of new facilities and major rehabs of existing facilities. Specialize in medical facility planning, programming, medical equipment planning, process mapping and report writing. Position Responsibilities Leads definition, planning and documentation of digital work-flow strategies, objectives and coordination of data management on Projects through close collaboration with Project Digital Coordinators as well as fellow leaders in Computational Design, High Performance Design, Visualization, etc. Identifies, categorizes and organizes strategies or issues specific to Project scale from office-wide and firm-wide scope through coordination with BIM Leads/Managers from other offices. Initiates the BIM model(s) and drawings in collaboration with Project Digital Coordinators, according to appropriate standards. Advises and supports project teams in the coordination of Project BIM models, process management and objectives with other disciplines and consultants. General understanding of sustainable strategies and principles including familiarity with LEED or other green building rating systems. Demonstrated expertise in digital tools such as Revit, ACC / BIM360, Dynamo, Navisworks, Revizto, AutoCAD, energy modeling, LCA tools and appropriate scripting languages. Expert understanding and knowledge of scripting, programming, Grasshopper, Rhino and their relationship to BIM workflow. Position Responsibilities Exhibits initiative, process innovation, problem solving, and decision quality with a high attention to precision and accuracy at a project level. Demonstrates a developing understanding of professional service agreements (SOM-Client Services Agreement, SOM Sub-consutlant Agreements). Assists with monitoring contract scope and identifying and executing additional service agreements. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the interior architecture process from concept development through project closeout. This includes experience with programming, space planning, design development, material and finish selection, documentation, coordination with consultants, and construction administration. Possesses a clear grasp of how design intent is maintained throughout all project phases and ensures alignment with client goals, budget, and schedule. Collaborates with the team to confirm labor allocation and participates in weekly team meetings to coordinate progress and maintain project alignment. Supports owner/client relationship and expectations to allow SOM and team to work effectively, efficiently and collaboratively. Supports Senior Project Manager to initiate, monitor and maintain project schedule and work plan including schedule of meetings, and presentations. Supports Senior Project Manager and contributes to responses for Request for Proposals (RFPs), including outlining scope, schedule and fees for proposed projects. Effective at communicating and promoting the work of the firm. Actively collaborates at a project, consultant team, and client team level by critically and constructively evaluating ideas. Contributes to and actively participates within the studio and office. Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means. Leadership Responsibilities Inspires and leads others by example, participates in staff mentoring and training, clearly defines team member expectations and responsibilities, empowers others, and delegates where appropriate based on team members' recognized abilities and potential. In collaboration with team members, contributes to a clear and consistent work plan to achieve the project budget, deliverables, and schedule. Actively engages in internal professional development opportunities. Contributes to the implementation of sustainable strategies in all project assignments and the associated development of staff knowledge. Contributes to the development of standards, policies, and procedures. Protects SOM from financial and legal risk. Minimum Qualifications Professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture. Minimum 6 years of professional experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Professional licensure process is close to completion. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Adobe Suite (including, sheets and docs preferred), MS Office Suites (word and excel), Bluebeam, Slack, Miro.
