* Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
* typically 3-5+ years of electronics assembly and inspection experience with in-process soldering (both through hole and surface mount),
* Must be able to work for extended hours utilizing a microscope to perform inspection and solder touch-ups.
* Hand soldering experience is required.
* Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures.
* High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Rework/repair, wire attach, and mechanical assembly.
* Must be detail oriented and able to multitask.
* IPC-610, J-STD-001 and 7711/7721 certification preferred.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Must be able to work a flexible schedule in order to meet production and customer needs.
* 10 plus years related experience preferred.

Rincon Research Corporation seeks an Assembly Technician to help us develop and produce electronic signal processing and communication systems in small to medium production quantities. The Assembly Technician will be an integral part of a team working closely with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers, and production staff.

What are the primary responsibilities in the Assembly Technician position?
* Assemble complex electronic hardware products including installation of electrostatic discharge (ESD) sensitive circuit card assemblies inside various enclosure and chassis types
* Communicate regularly with engineering and management regarding problems impacting assembly
* Create and update assembly instructions
What required background will make you successful?
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a production environment building electro-mechanical assemblies using cable and wire harnesses, including soldering & crimping
* Experience using digital multi-meters (DMM)
* Ability to read schematics & drawings, follow technical assembly instructions, and interpret engineering blueprints
* Basic computer skills such as emailing, record keeping, and data entry for ordering & inventory transactions
* HS Diploma and Associates Degree (or equivalent 2 years of post-high school relevant work experience)
* US Citizenship
Preferred skills:
* 3+ years of experience in a production environment building electro-mechanical assemblies using cable and wire harnesses, including soldering & crimping
* Experience supporting continuous improvement projects to impact production safety, quality, delivery lead times, and/or cost
* Basic understanding of electrical components (ex: resistor, capacitor, diode, integrated circuit)
* Experience supporting quality assurance
