ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Install and maintain traffic signal systems (conduit, wiring, poles, signal heads, controllers, cabinets, switches, vehicle detectors, hardware, cabinets, etc.) in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
Remove, adjust, repair, or replace traffic signal heads, signal controllers, pedestrian head assemblies, cabinets, and roadway lighting as required.
Install, maintain, and repair, vehicle identification and detection systems.
Installs and maintains traffic signal loops to include preparing and operation road cutting equipment, installing traffic loop systems and post-installation roadway cleanup.
Operate backhoes, trenchers, skid-steer loaders, pole trucks, and bucket trucks in a safe and appropriate manner to install and maintain traffic signals.
Operate vehicles and equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of surroundings and work environment.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
Perform all work in a safe manner in compliance with all federal, state, local, project, and company Uncompromised safety requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience installing and maintaining traffic signals, and traffic signal systems.
Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, skid-steer loaders, digger derricks, and bucket trucks.
IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level 1 or Level 2 preferred.
Kentucky Electrical License preferred (EE or ME).

Establish and maintain effective vendor relationships
Have a clear understanding of vendor capabilities within your sphere of influence to ensure all goals are met. Communicate vendor inadequacies when needed
Work with divisional PA's to compile a nation-wide assessment of vendor capabilities.
Gather information related to vendor performance from SCI manager, construction and customer care and use that information to ensure the best "total" costs are achieved when considering costs related to quality, productivity and service
Resolve contract issues with vendors
Bid Related
Ensure scopes of work are current and specific to each vendor and that each vendor clearly understands them
Prepare bid packages including specifications and bidder lists prior to bidding
Analyze vendor bids to ensure all items are aligned with specifications and all costs are included and no aspects of the bid are missing
Compare new bids to pre-determined estimates to ensure alignment with expectations
Negotiate with vendors to develop the most cost effective pricing
When needed, provide ideas to better align bids with estimated pricing
Produce all bid analysis documents. Assemble a bid analysis for vendor selection team
Provide guidance concerning "best" choices for contracting new community
Product and Contract Related
Ensure all vendors are correctly contracted and meet company insurance requirements prior to perform any work
Maintains and supplies weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting as needed to support decision making
Ensure all change documentation is properly filed to ensure easy access for future needs
Identify opportunities to improve costing efforts
Ensure all specification changes are properly reflected in current contracts
Work with National Purchasing team to maximize rebate collection

Responsibilities:
Assists with the development of work scopes and front-end documents for bidding to create clear and concise scopes of work, assists with bid processes, including participation in post-bid interviews and answering bidder questions, identifies potential contractors to bid based on project requirements and ability to perform intended scope.
Enforces corporate safety policies on jobsite, including pre-task safety planning and providing key responsibility for safety compliance in the field.
Organizes/manages day-to-day on-site field labor force.
Supervises, coordinates, and sequences contractor's work to minimize interference between various contractors on the project.
Assists PM with management of overall budget and forecasting of usage, by helping to control cost and monitoring potential changes from contractors, including time and materials.
Develop site logistics plans for the entire project with assistance to maximize productivity and minimize impacts to building occupants.
Requirements:
7+ years of direct supervision of projects, including trades
4-year technical/engineering degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required
Strong ability to effectively communicate with all members of the team, including contractors, architects, and owners
