A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PEST CONTROL TECHNICIAN
As a Pest Control Technician, you are excited to start your route each day. Not only will you be recognized as a hero to our customers as you save them from pesky intruders, but you will also create lifelong client relationships. You search high and low by entering attics, crawl spaces, and other parts of residences to assess any problems and properly identify insects, pest harborage areas, and conducive conditions. Your calm, helpful demeanor puts our customers at ease as you devise and describe a personalized solution.

What You'll Be Doing
Answer incoming calls and make outbound calls to customers to schedule, confirm, and follow up on service appointments.
Proficiently navigate a Windows-based & Web-based system to track routes and optimize current and future schedules; don't worry, we will train you!
Apply expertise developed in training to schedule appointments for technicians to efficiently minimize driving time and/or distance as needed, and recommend alternative routes when appropriate.
Use your sharp listening skills and probing questions to identify the customer's concern and evaluate their needs.
Monitor, update, and maintain the customer database with accurate customer information, including call details, disposition of calls, payments, and other results .
Reschedule unserved accounts within 24 hours.
Participate in quality assurance processes, programs, and initiatives

Position Overview
Performs exclusion services and animal removal at customer locations according to company policy and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Applies company standards in servicing customer locations. Responds to customer inquiries; solicits new business; and adheres to required safety regulations.

Sets up and builds exclusion traps, cuts flashing and forms hardware cloth to specifications.

What do our Account Executives do?
The primary purpose of this role is to sell the company's Commercial Pest Management Services and Products to new and existing Commercial customers, while maintaining a customer-focused service to grow the business. Account Executives call on a full spectrum of market segments including hospitality, food & beverage processing, healthcare, and retail. Essential Job Functions:

Clean shaven face- for safety reasons (rebreathers have to be able to seal your face)
High school diploma or GED; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Possess a valid driver's license from state of residence.
Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us)
Available to work Monday-Friday and weekends as needed
Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control
Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
Basic math skills - You'll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels
Customer-facing experience preferred
Base Pay RangeHourly: $17.00 - $19.00
While starting pay falls within the given range, it can vary based on factors like geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Total earnings may also be affected by overtime, incentives, commissions, performance, and route assignment (where applicable).

What You'll Be Doing
Conducting full-home inspections (from attic to crawl space)
Build trust by explaining your findings clearly and recommending the best treatment options
Close sales by showcasing the value, protection, and long-term benefits of Orkin's services
Manage appointments, follow-ups, and documentation using a company-provided iPad
Work independently, prioritize your schedule, and maximize leads and self-generated opportunities
Represent Orkin with professionalism, empathy, and integrity every step of the way

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Ability to obtain the appropriate pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment (company paid)
Safely use a ladder within the manufacturer's weight capacity
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Safely access crawlspaces, attics, confined spaces, roof tops, etc.
