Audubon is currently seeking a Senior API Inspector to join our team. This job will be located in Bakersfield, CA. The Senior API Inspector will manage the conventional and advanced NDE Inspection crews on their project, primarily in the facilities and terminals related to the oil and gas industry. This role will be required to travel 75% of the time as well as be responsible for directing crews, verifying equipment under inspection has been inspected per industry recommended practice, including damage mechanisms. Is a direct contact between the Client and Audubon Management. Is responsible for safe and successful projects, while maintaining P/L for the project. Reports to the Facilities Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company and Customer safety standards and procedures.
Travels to Clients' locations.
Conducts inspections on piping, pressure vessels and storage tanks within facilities and terminals.
Conducts API inspections on piping, pressure vessels and storage tanks within facilities and terminals.
Willingness to maintain API certifications and ongoing development.
Able to manage projects and personnel successfully.
Program development; key team member in continual improvement of service program to include improvement support of procedures and work instructions.
Ensures quality and safety standards are achieved and maintained.
Reads and interprets drawings and schematics.
Assists other Technicians in the field, as necessary.
Able to read P&IDs, PFD, construction documentation, U1A documents.
Able to perform basic calculations pertaining to remaining life, next inspection date, retirement date.
Supports and solicits input and feedback from team members at all levels within the organization.
Works safely and completes all Company and Client Safety daily paperwork.
Adheres to Company policies and procedures in their entirety.
Coordinates with Business Development to identify strategic accounts and play an active role in developing these accounts.
Assists data group with QA/QC of report deliverables on assigned projects.
Uses experience and knowledge, to assist peers and other Company NDE Technicians with questions.
Other duties as assigned by management.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
8+ years of Facility Integrity experience required.
Technical background in NDE methods and procedures.
NDE experience, ASNT TC-1a Level II or equivalent Certification in UTT, knowledge of applicable advanced NDE methods (GUL-XB2, AUT, SRUT, PEC, PA).
Experience in project management functions.
Significant Experience in report writing.
Demonstrated capability to perform the responsibilities of an API Inspector.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards.
Customer management skills.
Able to continually define ways to increase customer satisfaction and deepen customer and market relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively with key customers to identify future needs and effectively positions the Company to capitalize on these.
Able to ensure the delivery of superior solutions to customers.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
Eligible to work in the U.S., without sponsorship.
Able to travel 75%.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean MVR.

Job Description
AECOM's Disaster Recovery Division is seeking a knowledgeable Part-Time Variable Site Inspector to join our Houston team. In this role, you will support critical disaster recovery programs by performing post-storm site inspections, developing scopes of work and cost estimates, and collaborating with program leadership, contractors, and applicants to help communities recover efficiently and in compliance with program requirements.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
The Site Inspector will assist with the implementation of Disaster Recovery Programs, including the oversight of managers and distribution of resources within a specific functional area. The Site Inspector should maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements.
The Site Inspector will be responsible for the following:
Work with senior leadership and the applicant to identify projects that comply with the established categories of work for the program.
Understand all aspects of pre-construction processes including, but not limited to: inspections, estimated costs to repair (ECR), surveying, development of program compliant plans and specifications and any other construction documents required by the Program.
Maintain a complete understanding of all applicable Program policies and requirements.
Oversee the implementation of specific parts of the construction project, which may include oversight and distribution of resources within the specific functional area.
Inspect and determine extent of damage to residential and/or commercial properties.
Develop scopes of work and cost information/estimates for repair or replacement of disaster related residential or commercial property damage.
Interact with General Contractors during disaster recovery residential repairs/construction.
Maintain a complete understanding of local building codes and regulations.
Prepares cost estimation packages and analysis of General Contractor estimates for housing projects.
Perform duties with some complexity under general supervision.
Expected to assist in the QA/QC of cost estimates assigned to other inspectors.
Perform site inspections for post-storm residential damage.
Create Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECR) and detailed cost estimating documentation.
Conduct 50% and final progress inspections.
Understand and apply local building codes, GLO design standards, and construction specifications.
Complete required forms and obtain signatures in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
* BA/BS and 4+ years of relevant or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and functional experience with estimation services (Xactimate)
Experience with estimating terminology, measures, concepts and principles.
Advanced time management skills which utilize high-level strategies that aid staff in managing time, productivity, and effectiveness
Xactimate Level 2 Certification
5+ years of disaster recovery construction experience preferred
Experience with CDBG housing and/or FEMA hazard mitigation programs or similar programs/projects is preferred
Advanced level Microsoft Office skills; ability to import, create formulas, pivot tables, export data and run reports in Microsoft Excel; ability to quickly learn new software applications

Perform visual and dimensional inspections on materials, parts, and finished goods using established standards, drawings, and specifications.

Verify conformance of materials received against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials; assist with root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up.
Conduct in-process inspections of Samples/Prototypes and production runs to ensure adherence to specifications and process controls
Support final inspection activities prior to shipment, ensuring accuracy of labeling, counts, and packaging quality.
Communicate inspection results clearly to supervisors, leads, and cross-functional teams to address quality issues promptly.
Participate in calibration, equipment verification, and maintenance of inspection tools and measurement devices.
Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of quality procedures and visual standards.
Promote and uphold company quality and safety policies at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position does not have direct reports.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of quality inspection methods, measurement tools (calipers, tape measures, gauges), and sampling techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail, recordkeeping accuracy, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills for cross-functional coordination and reporting of quality issues.
Problem-solving and analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Basic computer skills for data entry and quality documentation (Excel, ERP, or QMS systems).
Knowledge of ISO or quality system principles preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 years of experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or production environment.
Experience with basic measurement tools and inspection documentation required.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, Lean manufacturing principles, Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma production methodologies preferred.
