JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the designing, construction, styling, and maintenance of wigs, eyebrows, beards, and mustaches, and any related hair costume products in accordance with the integrity of the approved designs. Cuts, cleans, and style wigs utilizing the knowledge of all materials and supplies used in the maintenance of theatrical wigs. Ability to work with adhesive applied hair application, removals, cleaning, and restyling of hair appliances. Involves working closely with makeup artists, costume designers, and directors to ensure wigs align with the creative vision and IP especially when integrated with prosthetics or special effects. Maintains the integrity and creative intent of each design in alignment with Universal standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES + Creates custom wigs using human or synthetic hair. Build wig foundations using lace, netting and other materials. Knot and ventilate hair strand-by-strand for realistic appearance. Integrates wigs with prosthetics or SFX elements when required. Constructs wigs, hair pieces, and hair costume pieces for Universal Horror Unleashed costume looks, which also may require cutting, punching, tying, and plugging. + Adheres to all schedules for washing, re-setting, and maintenance of wigs, prosthetic hair pieces, and hair costume pieces. Monitors inventory for wear and tear and maintains documentation of all wigs and hair pieces. Communicates concerns to leadership to ensure sustainable use of all materials and tools. Maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times. + Works with SFX Makeup, Prosthetics & Wigs leadership to assist in training performing artists in the application of their wigs and prosthetic hair pieces while preserving the integrity of each look. Assists performing artists with the removal of wigs and prosthetic hair pieces as needed. + Participates in fittings with Performers and makes alterations or adjustments as required. + Utilizes the ability to apply and maintain prosthetic hair and lace pieces such as eyebrows, beards and mustaches, and the removal, styling, and cleaning adhesive prosthetic and lace hair as well punching and/or ventilating hair to mask and prosthetic pieces. + Provides wig and hair support for all Public Relations, Marketing, seasonal overlays and special events. + Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. + Perform other duties as assigned.
