We are seeking a Junior Field Representative (Active-Duty Service Members Only) to join our team as part of the DoD SkillBridge Program. This opportunity is designed for transitioning service members who want to gain hands on experience in construction inspection and field operations while leveraging their military skills. As official partners with DoD SkillBridge, this is an unpaid internship; however, service members will continue to receive their regular military pay and benefits.
Your role
Under the immediate supervision of our construction managers and technical professionals, you will:
Train in various tasks of the field observation function.
Assist field representatives in observation processes and develop an understanding of construction plans.
Prepare testing sites using shovels, wheelbarrows, and other tools.
Assist in sampling materials and conducting soil testing (e.g., concrete and asphalt testing).
Maintain diary records and perform plan readings for station location, curve information, and locating features and elevations on construction sites.
Support senior inspectors in discussions of materials, contractor methods, and documentation.
Your SkillBridge experience will follow a structured 13-week curriculum combining classroom and field learning:
Weeks 1-2: Safety protocols, hazard assessments, and construction math fundamentals.
Weeks 3-4: Plans and specifications reading; tools and equipment training (including concrete meters, slump cones, nuclear density gauges, and drone technology).
Weeks 5-6: Temporary traffic control in work zones; environmental field learning and turbidity testing.
Weeks 7-9: Utility construction monitoring; earthwork and field observation; asphalt pavement inspection and testing.
Weeks 10-12: Concrete construction inspection; traffic signals, lighting, ITS systems; signage, striping, and ADA compliance.
Week 13: Documentation and reporting responsibilities, project roles, and schedule interpretation.
About you
Eligibility: Must be an active-duty service member approved for the DoD SkillBridge Program.
Strong interest in construction inspection and field operations.
Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks.

Your role

Maintains HSE SharePoint site and company Sphere intranet website. Assists with maintaining external website content. Coordinates with HSE Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) vendor as needed.
Supplies data as requested to support and respond to client and other external stake-holder requests for US Region HSE performance and programs information.
Manages US Region interface with client-mandated third-party HSE Evaluators (e.g., ISNetWorld, Avetta).
Administers US Region HSE subcontractor prequalification system.
May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
About you
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in technical discipline related to the sciences and preferably in a Health, Safety, or Environmental field or technical field associated with the architect, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. 0-5 years experience working in that capacity. Work experience prior to and during college taken into consideration as well as experience working with others.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required. Requires proficiency and interest in a wide variety of modern software and AI technology.
Must be able to read and write proficiently and be able to correct and improve writing of others.
Interest in and ability to understand technical information is valuable inasmuch as the business is infrastructure architecture, engineering, and construction.

Role Description
SOM is looking for a Revit Content Developer as part of our firmwide delivery standards efforts. As part of the Design Technology team, this role will work directly with the BIM Standards Lead, focusing on creating and refining the internal library of Revit families and details. The goal is to ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality project delivery across the firm.
Position Responsibilities
Strong understanding of Revit categories, families, and parameters
Assists in development of training materials for SOM's Architectural BIM standards and best practices.
Ability to work within enterprise BIM standards
Assists with identifying, planning, and development innovative ideas/solutions to support BIM content development
Performs quality assurance testing of BIM-related tools.
Contributes to custom tool development and integration with BIM content within framework and infrastructure defined by Office of Technology
Identifies and evaluates possible productivity gains to be made with customization and automation.
Keeps informed of industry standards, trends and developments related to BIM practices.
Working with the BIM Standards Lead, manages a collaborative relationship with Design Technology representatives, discipline subject matter experts, and other knowledge resources to ensure that BIM standard assets and workflows are coordinated, integrated, and support the performance goals of project delivery as well as SOM's other technology visions.
Qualifications
0-5 years of experience with Revit content development
Experience with Revit is essential. Additional experience in Dynamo and scripting is beneficial.
Experience in imperial and metric Revit family development.
Experience in Rhino, parametric and rendering software, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace is beneficial.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Position Responsibilities
Contributes to SOM's vision by enabling clear communication among team members, consultants and clients. Promote professional relationships internally and externally.
Supports the project lead to document project communications, file and organize project documents and disseminate project information with the project team.
Assists in project drive and group set-up and protocols.
Supports scheduling of client and consultant meetings as needed.
Record minutes of these meetings and document action items.
Works with internal SOM staff to implement, update and manage in Vision software, project staffing and resource planning.
In conjunction with Structural Leadership, coordinates with Project Accountant in preparation appropriate billings and pursue payment compliance.
Maintains and updates project data (in various mediums including hard copy project files, network drives etc.) in a timely manner to ensure accurate reporting of earnings and accurate billings.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional degree in Architecture or Civil/Structural Engineering.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience or equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A highly professional, creative and committed individual with proven collaboration, technical and organizational skills.
A proven work ethic and the ability to anticipate project, client and team needs, service oriented, initiate decisions and coordinate the activities of others.
Interest in, and ability to, handle financial management issues as it relates to project team members, consultant team members and project performance.
Strong command of Google Workspace.
Strong proofreading skills.
Smartsheet skills are highly desirable.
