We are currently seeking a **Plumbing Engineer** to design plumbing and fire protection systems including domesticandspecialty water systems, sanitary drainage and vent systems, storm drainage systems, natural gas distribution systems,specialtygas systems,plumbing and fire protection systems for data centers,other special plumbing systems and fire suppression systems. **The opportunity** · Design plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings and structures. · Design plumbing and fire protection systems for data centers. · Preparation of drawings detailing the systems designed, including but not limited to plumbing schedules, floor plans and enlarged plans, details and riser diagrams. · Prepare sketches and narratives for SD packages. Provide Revit drawings for DD deliverables and construction documents. · System design calculations, code analysis and record-keeping. · Select equipment for use in building systems. · Preparation of written reports describing the systems proposed and alternatives. · Prepare specifications tailored to project needs. · Coordinate your work with the engineers of other disciplines. · Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them. · Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings based on client needs. · Construction administration activities, including but not limited to site visits, review and respond to contractor submittals and RFIs; troubleshooting construction issues, and write site observation reports. · Calling City Officials and Fire Marshal office as necessary for project delivery. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning - to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve. **Is this role right for you?** · Bachelor's degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering. · Minimum 3 years' experience in the design and specification of plumbing and fire protection systems required. · Familiarity with codes and standards, specifically UPC, IPC, IBC, ASPE standards, LEED water efficiency, TDSHS, FGI and NFPA. · Experience designingand deliveringa variety of building types whichinclude data centers. - · Ability to utilize Revit software to develop design drawings and 3D model of plumbing and piping systems is preferred. · Ability to deliver quality work by project deadline within given time budget. · Good communication skills essential for team-based working. · Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment. · Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges. · Knowledge of Bluebeam, Excel, Word and Navisworks. **Other/Preferred:** · Professional Engineering License preferred or ASPE CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design) in the US. · Data center experience preferred · Sound knowledge in plumbing engineering fundamentals. · Certifications in Medical Gas design. · LEED AP or WELL Certifications. Establish project schedule and delegate project tasks based on staff strengths, skills, and experience. Secure and allocate all resources needed for the completion of the project including building permits, licenses, materials, equipment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in a Platform Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role. Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solid understanding of Windows Server administration and integration with cloud environments. Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform (OpenTofu) and AWS CDK. Strong experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD. Experience deploying and managing .NET applications in cloud environments. Deep understanding of security best practices and their implementation in cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls) in cloud environments. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., NewRelic, CloudWatch, Cloud Logging, Prometheus). Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Bash). Experience with the configuration management tool Chef Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with containerization & orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Relevant AWS and/or GCP certifications are a plus. Strong understanding of Powershell and Python Scripting, Ruby (chef) Strong background with AWS EC2 features and Services (Autoscaling and WarmPools) Understanding of Windows server Build process using tools like Chocolatey for packages and Packer for AMI/Image generation. Solid experience with the Windows server operating system and server tools such as IIS. Chef: This refers to Chef, a configuration management tool, with a focus on its cookbook-centric approach for Windows environments, specifically versions 17 and 18, Supermarket. SQL: This covers SQL database aspects, including clustering for high availability, configuration management, automation of database tasks, and experience with RDS (Relational Database Service) and EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) for SQL instances, with an emphasis on automation DNS/Networking: This involves Domain Name System management, specifically with Microsoft DNS and AWS Route53. Also to include AWS VPC experience (Transit Gateway, routing, endpoints) Active Directory: This refers to Active Directory, covering security best practices, administration, understanding of domain, forest, trust relationships, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
