American Bridge Company Job Title: Field Engineer Reports To: Project Engineer FLSA Status: Exempt The Field Engineer position will begin their assignment at the Center Hill Dam Spillway Gate Replacement Project and will assist with managing the fabrication and construction of the Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery, including but not limited to site survey, engineering submittals and development of means and methods of construction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to site safety requirements, contract and budget management, construction and engineering work plan development and ensuring that work completed on site meets the quality control requirements of the contract. Requirements: * B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience * 0-5 years experience on bridge and/or steel structures, must be proficient with AutoCAD * Responsible to learn construction practices as required for compliance with federal, state, and local codes; industry standards; company procedures; contractual requirements; etc. * Assists the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities * Serves as resource for project specifications, procedures, relevant portions of contract, etc. * Attends construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned Other Skills and Abilities * Must be able to legally work in the United States. * Must be willing to work in a drug-free environment and agree to a post offer drug test. * Must be willing to work safely and keep OSHA recordable incidents to a minimum. * Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards and specialty bridge design software; must be proficient with MS Office. * Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines. Supervisory Responsibilities: None, but must work well with other Field Engineers, Project Managers and Craft Personnel on the project. Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations. Individual should some level of business acumen, including knowledge of operating expenses, profit, etc. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases. Must have the ability to learn design software programs. Job Description * Perform various type of testing using chromatographic systems, Karl Fischer (Coulometric and Volumetric), UV/Spec, various wet chemistry analyses, HPLC, IC, IR, ICP, AA, TGP, DSC, PDA, auto-titrators, TLC, and dissolution apparatus * Execute specialized analyses and method transfer and feasibility testing * Document work as required for GMP compliance * Perform tests accurately * Troubleshoot method and instrumentation problems * Use office and instrumentation specific computer software * Produce written reports (e.g., SOP, OMC, client reports) * Develop and execute validation plans * Carry out method transfers and feasibility studies * Train technical staff * Some travel to client sites for technical meetings could be required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or other related degree concentration * 3 years of related pharmaceutical experience in a cGMP environment * Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship The Ideal Candidate Would Possess: * Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills * Experience working with protein chromatography * Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills * Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude * Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies Additional Information Position is full-time position, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm.
