What this Job Entails:
The Field Technician III will provide support to all assigned locations, including data centers and Points of Presence (POPs), and physical site services. The person in this role will coordinate with network teams as well as local vendors for installation, repair and maintenance activities. The Field Technician must have deep knowledge and professional experience deploying (physical layer) rack and stack configurations. This role requires travel.

Your Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain the highest quality standards in all assigned data center locations and remote points of presence (POP).
Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing activities as directed with meticulous attention to driving and maintaining the highest quality standards in the telecommunications industry.
Perform card adds or replacements, software upgrades, and associated testing.
Recommend improvements to processes that may impact the quality of our network assets or improve overall efficiencies for any related process or system.
Provide site survey support for OSP and ISP projects, as well as large space & power and/or equipment deployments.
Perform site audits and reconcile data discrepancies in coordination with Network Surveillance and other groups as necessary.
Manage local construction vendors working on behalf of the company to ensure compliance with installation, repair, maintenance MOPs and standards, as well as quality and cleanliness.
Meet/coordinate with Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) and other technicians to facilitate timely installation, repair, and maintenance activities as necessary.
Perform site surveys in support of network builds, augments, or decommissions.
Coordinate site access, equipment staging, and other tasks
Adeptly leverages knowledge and expertise

Required Qualifications/Skills:
Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 5+ years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Experience working with data center and POP infrastructure, including experience or deep understanding of OSP, ISP, interfacility cabling, fiber and copper distribution, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction.
Experience with installing and maintaining a wide variety of telecom/network equipment, including DWDMs, backbone and management routers, IP switches, as well as all optical and digital infrastructure.
Deep understanding of splicing, and an understanding of how to maintain and operate within a manhole, vault, or handhole environment.
Experience with telecommunications testing equipment from microscopes and source and power meters to OTDRs and experience testing across all SONET and Ethernet bandwidths.
Extensive knowledge of telecommunications testing standards and procedures from length, wire-mapping, and bit error rate to power, delay, loss, reflectance and dispersion.
Experience with state and local regulatory standards, procedures, and permitting requirements.
Ability to work effectively with local exchange carrier (LEC) and other telecom service provider technicians, building landlords, electricians, construction operators, and non-technical end users.
Ability to work independently, diagnose problems and take appropriate action with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, workflow and project management applications, and administrative software applications.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for safe and efficient preventative maintenance. The incumbent will lubricate stationary equipment and mobile equipment as needed per manufacturer's recommendation and/or schedules directly from the Maintenance Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Maintenance
Follow the provided preventative lubing checklist and inspecting of equipment.
Perform lubrication and servicing of plant equipment and maintain records indicating such. Lubrication and servicing of mobile equipment on an as needed basis.
Maintain inventory levels on oils, greases, fuels, and filters. Maintain clean and hazard free work area.
Ensure compliance with all governing environmental regulatory statutes regarding storage and handling of lubricants. Oversee spill and leak prevention efforts at the mine.
Perform oil sampling of critical quarry and plant equipment.
Complete necessary paperwork to maintain inventory or procurement of lubricants, filters, spare parts and equipment.
Perform minor maintenance on plant and Quarry equipment as needed. Install and maintain all grease lines and fittings. Make repairs as needed.
Recommend changes in servicing intervals when seals are leaking or excessive wear is apparent, along with initiating a work order to make the necessary repairs.
Operate maintenance and mobile equipment as necessary to perform servicing.
Perform all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner, strictly adhering to Company and governmental safety rules and regulations.
Clean up any spills or leaks of oil, grease or fuels.
Reporting

HCSG is a 24/7 service company that requires technicians to be available on-call and provide after hour or even weekend services as required due to customer needs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Must be able to be on-call and provide after hour services as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is labor intensive. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a daily basis. Must be able to lift up to 100lbs on a rare basis. This position requires 90% of frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and prolonged standing and sitting. It requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. The position also involves great hand and eye coordination. Heights exceeding over 50 feet from time to time are normal to incur on a daily basis to maintain a crane. Employee will be required to travel from time to time (20 50%) and must be willing to work various shifts to accommodate needs of HCSG branches and customers. This includes on-call and overtime. Travel out of town may be required at the discretion of the company.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is normally performed inside or outside (pending customer requirements) with varying degrees of extreme hot and cold temperatures depending on the weather. During summer months, temperatures can exceed 120 degrees. This position will be frequently exposed to noise, heights, fumes, dust, and odors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* 0 - 2 years of crane experience in an industrial facility
* Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
* Must always commit to working and driving safely

What You'll Be Doing:
* Perform preventative maintenance on standby generator systems.
* Troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel engines.

* Complete and submit work orders and reports in a timely manner.
* Prepare accurate quotes for repairs.
* Follow safety requirements, including proper use of PPE.
What We're Looking For:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Technical School Certificate or Military training, a plus.
* 1-5 years or more of generator experience required.
* Experience with Kohler Power Systems a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle systems including engines, electrical, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
Access and inspect vehicle systems using both manual and computerized diagnostic tools
Provide accurate time and labor estimates for additional repairs
Explain technical diagnoses and repair recommendations clearly to service advisors
Disassemble and reassemble parts correctly and safely
Operate power tools and standard automotive shop equipment with confidence
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, shop organization, and adhere to safety standards
Complete all required documentation and follow dealership and regulatory procedures
Attend training, meetings, and educational sessions as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by management
