Sign-on Bonus Available! Provides surgical technology to direct and indirect care and service. Assist surgeon, performs operative/invasive procedures. Serves as a resource to other technologist, trains new technologist, trains students and functions as an informal lead technologist role as needed. Mentoring and utilizing the additional education gained through certification will be used to assist peers, perform more efficiently and raise performance. The Surgical Technologist provides clinical support in the Champaign Endoscopy Center. As a member of the endoscopy team, the Surgical Technologist assists with patient care activities, obtains specimens, assists physician with instruments and setting up and tearing down room between cases. Responsibilities Facilitate the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. * Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile drapes and sterile solutions as well as appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies. * Hand required/requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery. * Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. * Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors/tracks instruments counts throughout procedures. Requirements Licensure / Certification / Registration: * BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. * One or more of the following required: * Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. * Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: * High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
