    The Fabrication Supervisor will lead the daily fabrication operations, supervising a team of fabricators and technicians to ensure the manufacturing of high‑quality material‑handling steel components. The supervisor will ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in alignment with Penco Products' standards and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the fabrication team: assign work, monitor progress, coach staff, conduct performance reviews, manage staffing/shift changes, timecards, etc. Ensure production schedules are met: plan, prioritize, and allocate resources to achieve daily/shift targets, minimize downtime, and maintain flow through the fabrication area. Maintain product quality and specifications: review drawings/BOMs, ensure fabrication meets engineering and design requirements; respond to quality issues/defects. Promote and enforce safety, housekeeping, and environmental standards: create/maintain a safe work environment, ensure compliance with OSHA/industry regulations and company policies. Implement continuous improvement initiatives: drive lean manufacturing practices (5S, TPM, Kaizen), identify process bottlenecks, waste, improvement opportunities, and work with engineering/management to implement changes. Training and development: develop training materials, standard work instructions, cross‑train staff, maintain training matrix; support the growth of the fabrication team. Metrics and reporting: track KPIs (production output, scrap/rework rates, downtime, equipment utilization, safety incidents), analyze data, and report to management; recommend corrective actions. Collaboration: work closely with engineering, quality assurance, maintenance, materials and scheduling departments to coordinate production, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless operations. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in manufacturing/engineering or related preferred. Proven supervisory experience (typically 3-5 years) in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, punching, pressing) and experience working with structural steel components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and BOMs. Proficient with computer systems (MS Office: Excel, Word; ideally familiar with MRP/ERP systems). Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to motivate a team and manage performance. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to drive continuous improvement.
