The pros of working at Aspen Dental are the ability to increase your salary based on how MUCH harder you are willing to work.
They will over work you, only care about metrics and money. The management does not care about the patients or the staff. For hygiene, the expectation is to hit a monthly "budget" of over $50k.
The leadership at aspen is lacking. None of the lower management likes any of the upper management and none of the staff likes lower management for the same reason. Everyone is overworked by the people that are not clinical.
There is no way to improve it. I have tried. I have gone up the avenues of management and spoke my peace about how to improve patient care and things that I believe are unethical to patients. no one cares. they only care about metrics and money.
The interview process was easy. Just know how to identify periodontal disease. That is all they care about. The more gum disease that you can find the more money that you will make them and that is all they care about.
Nice office
Toxic high school like environment. Managers don’t give feedback and some even bad mouth their own employees to other managers
Unlimited PTO
Very senior leaders seem good they just are so out of touch with people - only talk to management one level down from them.
Listen to the employees doing the work. Notice when leaders get seen to not have a good repore with most of their team and play favorites
The interviews are easy - they tend to just hire people quickly and as long as they are young and cheap they are hired
Below average
Diversity is pretty good
My coworkers- those doing the work are great.
I worked as a dental lab technician in their Northern Syracuse office. I had a lot f freedom in my dental prosthetic work to be creative and I wasn't rushed. My boss was really nice and accommodating.
I was under paid and later offered much higher wages at a competing lab
Free lunch and a lot of overtime opportuities
I love the people and the staff at the time
is that management would rather promote from outside the company than within
helping patients who were starting the process of dentures
I love working at Aspen! There is so much support in the company it is like one giant family.
