Job DescriptionJOB AD: Chief Medical Officer Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for CMOs to partner with us in providing quality medical care to patients within a transitional setting. CMOs, alongside fellow team members, will be fully entrusted to ensure that the utmost competent care and safety is consistently delivered with compassion to the patient population.
The medical teams will be located within a secure medical facility, where such services include, but are not limited to the following:

Aspen Medical will provide additional EMS, Diagnostic and Laboratory, and other ancillary services. All clinic service delivery services will be provided in accordance with US clinical standards and compliance measures.

Requirements:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine of Doctor of Osteopathy
10 years post residency in board certified Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Preventative Health or Pediatrics
Experience:
Seven years clinical supervision and leadership of medical professional staff and ancillary clinic staff
License:
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine for the state in which the duty station is located
Certification:
BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Spanish is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership: CMOs provide guidance on clinical matters, establish and enforce medical protocols, and promote evidence-based practices.

Strategic Planning: CMOs participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and developing clinical services.
Risk Management: They address patient incidents and reportable incidents, upholding organization's integrity.
Staff Management: CMOs are involved in recruitment, training, and orientation of medical staff
Liaison Role: They act as a liaison between medical staff, administration, and other stakeholders.
Performance Improvement: CMOs monitor and enhance provider productivity, patient volume, and other key performance indicators.
Compliance: They ensure compliance with regulatory bodies and legal requirements.

Your Role as CMO
As our Chief Medical Officer, you will:
Provide direct primary care services 60% at one of our clinic sites (Monday-Friday schedule)
Oversee and supervise all licensed medical providers (MDs, DOs, NPs, and PAs)
Lead monthly provider meetings, performance reviews, and provider productivity coaching
Develop and monitor Quality Improvement strategies and HEDIS metric performance
Champion accurate documentation, coding, and note closure to meet billing and compliance standards
Ensure compliance with HRSA, TJC, PCMH, and other regulatory bodies
Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, collaborating on organizational goals, strategy, staffing, and operations
Represent BACHC in Board meetings and with community partners (as approved by the CEO)
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution; board-certified in a primary care specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, etc.)
Active California medical license (or eligible for immediate licensure)
At least 5 years of clinical practice experience and 3 years in medical leadership
Prior FQHC or community health experience preferred
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem-solving skills

The selected candidate will lead the pathology laboratory, managing all facets of its operations, and will contribute approximately 15 hours per week. This includes planning, organizing, and directing activities of the Laboratory with support from administrative directors, managers, supervisors, and senior technologists. The Director will also serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, collaborating closely with physicians and other health care providers.
Responsibilities include providing clinical direction, ensuring laboratory oversight, validating tests, and maintaining College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation. Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is desirable. As a member of the Anatomic and Clinical Pathology team, the Director will consult with clinical staff and participate in tumor boards. Pathologist Job Responsibilities
As the Laboratory Medical Director, responsibilities would include oversight of technical staff at the Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Laboratory, regulatory compliance, validations, process improvements, and quality initiatives along with participation in the Medical Executive Committee.
Pathologist should possess strong overall diagnostic and communicative skills with the ability to handle surgical pathology sign out of an active general surgical pathology service (complex surgical cases, frozen section, cytopathology if appropriate) and have interest and ability in overseeing daily clinical laboratory duties, such as blood bank, hematology, and chemistry.
Pathologists participate in centralized slide distribution and evenly share cases across the system which enables subspecialty sign out of cases within the pathologist's preferred subspecialties.
No Autopsy Coverage (All system autopsies are performed at only Inova Fairfax Medical Campus)
On-call duties include intraoperative consultations and frozen sections, along with blood bank calls and other consults from the clinical laboratory.
Requirements
Education: Graduate of accredited Medical Doctorate Program (MD/DO)
Experience: 3 years in active practice of pathology
Board Certification: Anatomic and Clinical Pathology - AP/CP
Certification: Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training; BLS from the American Heart Association
Licensure: Currently hold or ability to obtain an unrestricted VA medical licensure
Credentialing: Ability to obtain successful medical staff credentials throughout all of our Inova pathology locations

*Essential Roles and Responsibilities*
* Serve as Physician for MedMark Treatment Centers.
* Admitting Patients for Methadone and Buprenorphine Treatment.
* Physician will obtain a history and physical exam.
* Documentation into the EMR, entering orders for methadone dosing in the EMR or writing a buprenorphine prescription (soon this will be electronic, but we currently have a waiver to use written scripts while we are moving to a new EMR).
