UIC Construction is seeking a General Laborer to support various physical tasks at construction sites. Responsibilities may include operating hand and power tools (e.g., air hammers, tampers, cement mixers, hoists, and measuring equipment), preparing job sites, digging trenches, setting braces, building scaffolding, assisting with demolition, and cleaning up debris. This role may also involve supporting other skilled trades as needed.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
+ Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures
+ Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to theappropriate locations.
+ Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
+ Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt.
+ Mix, pour, or spread concrete, using portable cement mixers.
+ Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones.
+ Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.

Job Summary
Responsible for specialized construction of segmental retaining wall systems.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Unloads materials on site that are to be used in the construction of retaining walls.
Placing, raking, and shoveling stone to build a level footer for placing segmental block.
Hooking chains, stacking, straightening, leveling, and shimming block to build a wall level wall consistent with the construction documents.
Identify incorrect/short shipped items and immediately notify supervisor.
Operate skid-steer or excavator to transport and place materials where designated by supervisor.
Place all materials necessary during construction of the retaining wall system such as block, goe-grid, fabric, drainage pipe, etc.
Maintain an understanding of all the products that are used on a retaining wall project, and how to use them.
Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.). Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
Confirm payroll hours with direct supervisor before the end of each payroll period to confirm accuracy.
Perform basic equipment maintenance such as changing oil, greasing fittings, changing filters, changing tracks, etc.

Streetwork's programs are innovative outreach-counseling programs for homeless youth, which use a harm reduction, client centered, and trauma informed approach. Services include counseling, HIV prevention, case management, drop-in, daily living services, meals, groups, legal services, syringe exchange and overdose prevention services, mental health, and medical. The core service is long-term, one-on-one counseling, which is offered in a non-judgmental and holistic manner utilizing a harm reduction approach that focuses on building trust, fostering self-esteem, exploring options and choices, and empowering youth to change their high-risk behaviors. The Streetwork Overnight is a 24-bed facility for homeless youth ages 16-21. Services include: counseling, case management, meals, laundry, showers, support groups, and access to medical and psychiatric care.
Responsibilities:
Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice that reflects these approaches. Participate in the recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
Provide in-house individual and group psychotherapy, including crisis intervention and emergency assessments;
Provide supervision and oversight to Case Managers and Peer Navigators
Advocate for clients in the mental health system, including preparation of psychosocial reports;
Enhance the clinical component by strengthening staff's ability to assess mental health needs;
Conduct weekly one-hour individual supervision with staff to ensure quality of direct clinical services;
Co-facilitate weekly group clinical case conferencing;
