    Job Posting Description **One Time Sign on Bonus of $8,500.00** Schedule: 6am-2:30pm The SPD/OR Liaison will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations for their designated specialty surgical service. They may assist in developing, recommending, and implementing internal standards, policies, and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care and sterile processing. Liaisons will participate in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees, and special projects. Key Responsibilities: Supports Operating Room (OR) staff by verifying instrument kits are ready before surgery start times. Attends daily meetings with OR Specialty Coordinators to forecast instrument needs up to five days in advance. Monitors daily surgical case flow and communicates emergent or additional instrument needs to SPD, resolving issues as needed. Conducts daily audits of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including case cart and kit audits, room visits, and post-case reviews. Analyzes KPI data to identify trends and operational issues in the OR and Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Coordinates communication and planning for priority instruments and turnaround times, informing the surgical team of any delays. Responds promptly to surgical team calls regarding instrumentation problems or urgent needs. Cleans and processes equipment per manufacturer's instructions and safety protocols. Ensures instrumentation is processed and available for next-day, on-call, or weekend surgeries. Assists with documentation, kit updates, pick-list revisions, and maintaining accurate instrument count sheets with coordinators and physicians. Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma/GED required Associate's Degree Preferred Required Area of Study in Sterile Processing Preferred Area of Study in Sterile Processing and Surgical Technology Experience: 3 years of SPD experience required 5 years of SPD experience preferred Licensure/ Certifications: SPD Tech certification through a nationally recognized accreditation association required. This position will contribute to these MGH efforts through collaboration with MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC) and the Department of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) Population Health Management teams. MGHfC oversees a team of Community Health Workers. CHWs are trusted members of the community with the skills and experience to understand their patients' circumstances. By building trusting relationships and walking alongside their patients, CHWs help address medical and psychosocial needs in order to promote self-efficacy, help patients meet their goals, and improve health outcomes. The Community Health Worker (CHW) will be part of the pediatric CHAMPION Program's multi-disciplinary care team, which includes a physician and a dietitian. The evidence-based CHAMPION program and research study seeks to evaluate whether telehealth vs. in-person delivery of CHAMPION is equally effective at reducing child BMI and asthma control in diverse lower-income families. The CHAMPION program consists of individual and group visits guided by a set curriculum with a multi-disciplinary team (medical provider, dietitian, and community health worker), and other tools to support behavioral change and reduce body mass index (BMI) and asthma, such as follow-up phone calls, educational materials, social determinants of health screening and referral and text messaging. The CHAMPION CHW will provide care to children and adolescents with overweight/obesity and asthma, through group and individual visits, both in-person and virtually, and will participate in a Virtual Learning Community and Quality Improvement calls and activities as part of the research project. The CHAMPION CHW will support this program at the MGH Chelsea HealthCare Center and MGH Revere HealthCare Center. Hours are expected to be roughly 10am-6:30pm Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays based on clinical schedules, and Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30am-5pm. The CHAMPION CHW will engage patients and their families in setting their own short-term goals and will track the benchmarks along the way toward the achievement of these goals. In addition, the Asthma -Healthy Weight Lifestyle CHAMPION CHW will work with patients to help decrease barriers to timely follow-up care and provide coaching to engage patients and families in identification and achievement of care goals. This is not a clinical position, but the role is part of the clinical team and requires a good knowledge of (and willingness to learn) basic clinical concepts and an understanding of when a referral to a licensed clinician is appropriate. The Professional Session: The Bilingual Research CHE will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for community members, partner agencies, professional community audiences, and other health providers. The community educational programs will focus efforts on Moffitt Cancer Center (MCC) defined target areas and specifically selected community sites in Tampa, FL and the surrounding catchment area. This role provides community outreach and education to improve cancer screening behaviors and cancer outcomes in our catchment area populations. The overall goal is to increase community cancer awareness, community engagement, and participation in cancer research and outreach in our catchment areas. Educational activities planned and developed will be consistent with national imperatives relating to the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate education. The portfolio of work will be assigned by the PI or manager of record. All functions are conducted under the direction of the Principal Investigator(s) and Lead Research Community Health Educator. Ideal Candidate: Bilingual Spanish, with ability to pass fluency exam. Willing and able to travel throughout the specified catchment areas. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, organization and ability to solve problems. Must be able to demonstrate ownership of previous responsibilities, as well as deliver effective presentations to diverse audiences. Must possess a thorough knowledge of word processing and database entry.
