JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation. Minimum Required: Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certification in a Respiratory Therapy Program. Preferred/Optional: None EXPERIENCE Minimum Required: Experience working with mechanical ventilation of patients from neonatal to geriatric. Preferred/Optional: None CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position. Minimum Required: Respiratory Care Practitioner license awarded by the State of Wisconsin. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care, and maintain the active credential per NBRC Guidelines. If Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential is not active at time of hire, it must be obtained within one year of hire or by 7/1/2021 if hired prior to 6/30/2019. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. For positions treating patients in intensive care units (ICU): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications awarded by the American Heart Association within one year of hire. Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Certified Pulmonary Function Technician (CPFT) and Registered Pulmonary Function Technician (RPFT) awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care at time of hire.
