BLS within 6 months of hire. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Intermediate proficiency with computers is required. Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to multitask and manage priorities. Minimum Required: BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required within three months of hire. Must meet criteria for hospital and ambulatory surgery staff privileges (where applicable). May require additional specialty or department-specific certifications (where applicable). Preferred/Optional: BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire. Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Those without the certification are encouraged to complete continuing education credits equal to the requirements to maintain certification.
