The Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. Promotes education of self, peers and students. Collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the surgical environment. Hours:1.0 FTE, Full-Time, 80-Hours per pay period. Call. Experience/Qualifications: * Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a surgical technologist program or related field and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room. * Graduate of a certified surgical technologist program. * Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire. * Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist beneficial. Assist with patient positioning pre-operative and transport patient from cart to bed and back. Stock adequate supplies for surgery. Perform other duties as requested. Position Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred. 1+ years of related work experience preferred. BLS within 6 months of hire. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Intermediate proficiency with computers is required. Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to multitask and manage priorities.
