Through the direction of the Team Leader or Lead Person this individual is responsible for properly performing the match operation required for proper assembly. The majority of products involve hand assembly but must be able to operate other various assembly equipment in the department. Must be able to obtain certain information from a blueprint. This employee must frequently use various measuring devices to accurately maintain proper sizes and tolerances. Most work is repetitive in nature and follows routing, prescribed methods but some skill and judgment is involved in selecting correct sizes. This individual is also responsible for the movement of material, product or components to and/or from other productions areas. This individual is responsible for minimizing scrap and rework, maintaining accurate production records and quickly identifying issues that may prohibit production and reporting those issues to the Lead or their Team Leader. Cover leads-potting, conformal coating, under cover with patches, or doghouse. String heaters and terminate leads with copper crimps. Operate Spartanics and die clicker machines. Assembler This position is responsible for inserting coil windings into stators, rotors, and armatures, ensuring high-quality assembly in accordance with technical specifications. The Assembler is crucial to support the production of motors designed to endure exposure to combat, rigorous shock, and saltwater for decades of use. The Assembler uses finesse, strength, and focus to ensure each motor is built to accommodate the severe duty requirements of the U.S. Navy fleet. Key Responsibilities: Inspect stators, rotors, or armatures for defects such as bent laminations, burrs, or unclear slots. Review traveler documents for connection diagrams, winding types, span, inserts, and coil groupings. Install slot liners and insert coils based on the correct span, following all required steps for coil insertion and grouping. Shape coils using a forming fixture (press or mallet) and verify with templates. Solder coil leads using a solder pot, ladles, hand soldering iron, or for smaller gauges, brazing. Apply non-adhesive insulation tape and install additional sleeves, silicone, and moisture blockers. Perform similar coil insertion and shaping tasks for rotors and armatures, ensuring correct slot alignment. Weld coil wires to the commutator using TIG on larger rotors. Install temporary arbors to support and rotate the unit during coil insertion. Inspect work at each stage, ensuring coils meet specifications and are ready for testing or further processing. Label coil wires and ensure the stator is sent for testing once complete. Ensure the finished product meets all specifications before progressing to the next station. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our Operations Department, directly contributing to our company Core Values (REACH). Responsibilities: Performs general assembly operations under direct supervision of the GL, including, but not limited to, printed wire board assembly, conformal coating, potting, ultrasonic cleaning, coil winding, evac & backfill, component forming, wire wrapping, and painting as required by program or process. Assist in conducting in-process testing, such as bench and leak testing. Works from blueprints, assembly drawings, routing sheets, mil specs, verbal instructions, written process descriptions and visual work instructions. Attain security clearance and maintain certifications as required by programs or process such as ESD, explosive handling, and general soldering (IPC J-STD-001). Basic knowledge of computers and associated software such as word processing and spreadsheet applications as required. Capabilities shall include documenting and recording the results of completed testing and the rework of products. Assess the level of rework and assist in determining the cause of component, subassembly, or system failures. Take appropriate action to rework components and ensure proper operation of equipment. Make recommendations to engineering department regarding modification of assembly processes. Support company initiatives including ISO 9000 and Statistical Process Control (SPC) ensuring continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and products. Assist in guiding, directing, and training employees in various assembly operations as needed or directed. Remain flexible and willing to work in various work cells depending on company need. Report unusual circumstances or conditions to supervisor as required. Looking for someone who has skills or willingness to perform laser welding operations. General soldering experience (IPC J-STD-001) preferred.
