As an Associate Assembler you will support the operation of the Plant by ensuring established targets are met and exceeded. This role will require capable knowledge of building some products and a subject matter expert for some job functions.
You will collaborate with Engineering and Quality to work through challenges on the line to tackle issues as they arise. You will show leaderships skills and be a mentor to your peers. You will embrace continuous learning to gain knowledge of all product types associated with the work area - striving to attain the skill sets to address builds that are more challenging!

What You'll Be Doing
Accurately and efficiently perform all assigned product assemblies following standard work instructions.
Use hand and power tools to assemble units according to product specifications.
Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary.
Complete work in the prescribed time period, moving completed component or assembly to designated area.
Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Assist team members to ensure a quality product and smooth workflow.
Professionally and optimally communicate issues to leadership.
Willingness and ability to support business needs including overtime.
Actively participates in all change management/lean transformation activities.
Responsible for assuring safety and quality in all actions.

Our new Ladson, SC facility will produce a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation, shipping ports, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers. The **Lab Assembler** will be responsible for the rapid manufacturing of the consumable products used in our Trace detection systems. This is a repetitive manufacturing environment with a handful of variations. In this role the assembler must be able to read and interpret associated documentation while preparing raw materials for various steps of the process. Some of these steps will include washing, baking, measuring, and mixing of required materials. This person must be detailed oriented and safety conscious to maintain proper ratios and safe handling of the product. Once all required steps are complete samples will be tested and submitted to quality control for verification. The final step will be packaging into small containers with serialization and lot tracking applied. The ideal candidate will be a positive, energetic, self-motivating individual who is ready to learn and contribute to the Leidos mission.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
* Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and schematics
* Utilize various tools to measure, weigh, and mix raw materials
* Produce samples, test articles, and finished goods
* Routine cleaning and maintenance of baking and mixing equipment
* Reviewing and monitoring raw materials for accuracy and shelf-life compliance
* Proper handling of hazardous material to include storage and disposal
* Handling of materials to include removal and replacement of 55 gallon drums
* Utilize a combination of basic hand, power, pneumatic tools
* Provide assembly status and feedback for changes or improvements
* Complete build records and documentation as required
* Conduct quality checks on own work and may execute buddy checks on others work
* Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization utilizing 5S methodologies
* Follow manufacturing guidelines and procedures

**Required Qualifications:**
* 2+ years' relevant experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Following general company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
Operate within work instructions.
Order picking, repacking, packing, sequencing, labeling shipping and receiving.
Perform preventive maintenance (TPM) on shipping totes, racks etc.
Communicate with operators from other shifts.
Cleans operating facility for the purpose of maintaining a safe and sanitary work area. (5S)
Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
Move waste from work areas to dumpsters.
Drives vehicles (e.g., truck, van, forklift, etc.) for the purpose of transporting orders and materials to designated areas. The Team Member transports a variety of items (e.g., records/files, supplies, equipment, materials, testing materials, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or delivering materials as required.
Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is sent out. No damaged material is accepted in.
Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
Stage finished product for loading.
Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport. Move materials to warehouse storage.
Participates physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
Team Member responds to Inventory Specialist (and or management) for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, etc.
Maintains documents, files and records (e.g., tracking online shipping, equipment transfer forms, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information.
Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
Manufacturer floors based on customer demand and forecast.
Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.

Route wire harnesses per blueprint instructions for the 787 program.

What You'll Do as an Aircraft Structures Assembler C:
Perform complex assembly operations on aircraft structural parts, mechanical assemblies, and systems.
Execute intricate structural work including pull holes, match & back drilling, riveting, and system installations.
Interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, and process specifications to complete modifications and repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components.
Operate specialized aircraft tools and equipment with precision.
Maintain required certifications and licenses.
Contribute to the construction of high-quality aircraft through meticulous attention to detail.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
Extensive hands-on experience in aircraft heavy structural repair, with a focus on aerospace, fabrication, manufacturing, composites, and proficiency in Velocity and Redars systems.
Extensive MRO/Repair Station experience
Expert in aircraft assembly removal and restoration
Strong technical aptitude (drawings, technical orders)
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail
Team player with ability to work independently

Summary:
Performs routine production assembly on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems using manual operations.
Tasks include drilling, reaming, fastener installation, shimming, measuring, and data documentation. Uses high-impact vibratory tools (bucking/riveting) and adheres to safety and compliance standards.
Required Skills:
1+ years of experience following detailed work instructions and interpreting blueprints/specifications.
Ability to work variable shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
Experience with aircraft structural parts, assembly, and fabrication.
Proficient with conventional lathe, milling, measuring tools, and power/pneumatic hand tools.
Strong communication skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.
Ability to carry/lift 10-35 pounds and work with high hazard chemicals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
