This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm (over time as needed) Saturday hours 6:00am-12:00pm. Training pay is $21.44 per hour. After training, employees will earn incentive pay rate based on performance.
This position will assemble boiler parts/castings and obtain component parts required using bill of materials. This position will also package boilers using current specifications and processes.
In addition, but not limited to the above requirements, this individual will be required to test, troubleshoot, repair, or maintain the following:
* Read, learn, understand and interpret blueprints and work instructions, and other instructions written or verbal, to complete assembly of products or components according to established guidelines and quality standards.
* Use a variety of hand and power tools following appropriate methods and procedures to complete mechanical assembly of components or products, and prepare products and other items for shipment.
* Manage inventory following established guidelines and procedures including labeling and locating parts, picking parts from appropriate locations in specified quantities to fill kits or bins, delivering parts to work areas, and recording and communicating inventory levels.
* Inspect and test parts and products as necessary, during or after assembly, according to established guidelines and quality standards.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures.
* Practice problem solving and troubleshooting techniques as part of a team responsible for realizing continuous improvement to products and processes.
* Cross train in other departments as needed.
* Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.

Job Purpose
Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with a focus of on-line operations.
Key Responsibilities
1) Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence.
2) Work from Engineering specifications (work instructions), sketches, schematic diagrams, blueprints, process sheets, check sheets, photo books, and verbal instructions.
3) Perform necessary adjustments as unit progresses down assembly line.
4) Record defects that require off-line and on-line corrections. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, excessive continuation of defective parts, improper function, and assembling to proper supervision or management.
5) Visually check parts and entire assemblies for completeness, function, operation, and appearance.
6) Assist in the development of assembly practices and procedures.
7) Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties.
8) Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
9) Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
10) May perform touch-up or small repair work when assigned.
11) Perform other duties as required or directed.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION AND SKILLS:
This position is part of our Star Dental team, who manufactures dental handpieces, known for our collection and design of high and low-speed air-driven handpieces, electric systems and hygiene handpieces. The Assembler role is an integral part of the team, as this role assembles and packages our products, as well as tests and inspects various components used in production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assemble, package, test and inspect various components used in production utilizing various small hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, etc. and power tools such as air screwdrivers, wrenches, air cylinders, crimpers, etc.
Follow procedures, work instructions, and job travelers to ensure the production of quality parts.
Record production time and necessary information into computer software
Check parts, components and finished products for cosmetic and functional defects.
Perform other work duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 1 year experience
Basic computer skills required; experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar inventory control system preferred
Read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Knowledge of routine assembly procedures, techniques, testing and measuring equipment preferred
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to sit, stand and perform repetitive activities for sustained periods of time

Job Purpose
Assemble a wide variety of component parts, to build complete units, with a focus of on-line operations.
Key Responsibilities
1) Apply, align, attach, insert, and fasten various commodities, components, parts, sub-assemblies, or units to chassis in required order and sequence.
