Summary Description:
Catch and paint springs for garage doors as they come from the oven cooling conveyer in a safe and efficient manner. Cone the springs with a large drill motor and coning holder. Palletize the finished springs.
Essential Duties:
Catch and paint the springs as they come off the oven cooling conveyer in a safe and efficient manner
Cut springs with cutting torch to needed length
Check the quality and length of the springs
Cone the springs with a large drill motor and coning holder palletize the finished springs
Band the completed finished springs to the pallet.
Label the springs
Close out the work orders via the computer as required.
Produce the springs at or above the set labor standards.
Maintain a clean and safe working area
Essential Job Skills and Experience
Education/experience: Any combination of education providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be:
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Production experience preferred

Must be able to read a tape measure accurately
Ability to work independently and with a team

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:
This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine manipulation on both hands. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located.
Specific vision requirements:
This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.

**Job Summary:**
The Cleanroom Assembler II works under close supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military standards, Food and Drug Administration standards, and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Read blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of units; may also work from sketches and oral instructions.
+ Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies using hand or power tools, such as soldering irons, solder suckers, wire strippers, high voltage soldering irons, resistance (module) welders, bench spot welders, nut drivers, torque wrenches, drill presses, sanders, and microscope.
+ Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
+ Mark identifying information on parts.
+ Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges and scales.
+ Clean parts using iridite touch-up, solvents, degreasers, abrasives and other cleaning agents.
+ Set up and utilize properly all applicable jigs, fixtures, aids; adapt tooling to new uses or work without tooling as necessary to complete work assignment.
+ Remove and replace encapsulations and bonding, as applicable.
+ Coordinate with engineering relative to prototype or repair problems, as authorized.
+ May be assigned to set up equipment, interpret specifications, train and check accuracy of work of designated employees of lower classification.

Responsibilities
Follow job traveler instructions to assemble parts using small hand tools, bonding adhesives and assembly jigs.
Hand wraps insulation blankets, using utility knives, foam insulation, and insulation tape.
Performs light sanding and abrading of composite, plastic, and some metal components.
May perform some light riveting using rivet squeezes and pop rivet guns.
