+ As required, selects, hunts, or sorts material to be moved.

About Butler County RTA
BCRTA is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio organized as a Regional Transit Authority under Ohio code. BCRTA acts as the designated recipient for Federal Transit Funds and provides public transportation services within and around Butler County, Ohio including Hamilton, Middletown, Fairfield, West Chester, Oxford, and Miami University. The BCRTA employs or directs around 120 transit employees and manages an annual budget over $7M. BCRTA is governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees.

Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the general supervision of the assigned Direct Support Professional Supervisor, the Vehicle Operator has the primary responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of adults with developmental disabilities during bus transportation to and from the work, program sites, employment, and various activities within the community. It is also the role of the Vehicle Operator to: guarantee that the bus is clean and in proper working condition at all times; determine and follow safe and efficient bus routes; ensure all individuals are properly secured (including proper securement of wheelchairs); maintain all transportation records required by the program; and properly respond in case of emergency.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of secondary education or equivalent. Must be able to lift minimum 50 lbs. Must be able to sit for long periods of time as well as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing. Able to work a flexible schedule.
*CERTIFICATION: Must possess an Ohio Commercial Driver's License class B or greater with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements. Completion of First Aid and CPR. Current T-8 physical or greater is required.
*Validation of certification is required upon hire must be maintained to remain in the Vehicle Operator position.
