Upwing Energy is searching for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our production team building turbomachinery systems and sub-systems for the oil and gas industry. The Technician is also responsible to assemble and test machinery and electrical systems conforming to drawings and specifications. Essential Duties: Responsible for assembly high precision motor and turbomachinery electromechanical equipment at sub-system and top-level assembly level. Run qualification tests on test stands powered by LabView interface following test protocols defined by Test Engineering group. Measure and correct runouts, axial play, and rotor balance. Ensure full quality traceability to the work instructions and BOM in the production management system. Inspect and repair used or damaged sub-assemblies under guidance of Engineers. Provide feedback to improve tooling, processes, and design. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Foresee build issues and challenges and take actions to prevent foreseen delays. Skills and Experience: Minimum of 3-5+ years of technical experience (may include military training, technical degrees, etc.) High School Diploma or equivalent Able to lift 40 lbs. Ability to communicate in English Familiar with MS Windows and spreadsheets Familiar with safety protocols in a production environment desirable, including with use of lifts, gantries, and other materials handling systems, LOTO, electrical safety, etc. Familiarity with cleanrooms or FOD-free environments is desirable Demonstrated experience with torque wrenches, bearing presses and extractors, height and depth gages, multimeters, torches, and other hand and power tools Familiarity with torches, ovens, and telehandlers Familiarity with instrumentation and DAQ systems, including accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure and flow gauges. DUTIES Lead and train electro-mechanical assemblers and testers in the building and testing of electronic products. Follow documented work instructions to perform electro-mechanical assembly, testing/troubleshooting, burn-in testing, and packaging for all electronic products as a senior-level technician. Attach correct labels to the products and various subassemblies, perform all the necessary quality inspections, and maintain all production test records. Manage scheduling and workflow, delegate and monitor day-to-day activities for assemblers and testers, and generate end-of-the-day production reports. Maintain high-quality production with a high sense of urgency and customer satisfaction. Conduct short daily production stand-up meetings, participate in production status meetings with the Operations team, and manage and deliver on action items in a timely manner. Coordinate with Quality Control and repair/warranty personnel regarding production processes and failed electronics. Participate in internal and external ISO audits. Provide feedback for employee performance reviews and work proactively towards improved team performance. We seek a detail-oriented Cable Harness/Electrical Assembler to join our Torrance, United States team. In this role, you will assemble cable harnesses, electrical boxes, and wire harnesses with precision and efficiency, ensuring high-quality standards are met for our electronic products. Strong experience in IPC J Standard electrical assembly experience encouraged to apply. Assemble cable harnesses, wire harnesses, and electrical boxes, among other aerospace projects according to technical specifications and drawings. Read and interpret blueprints for electronic assembly. Knowledge of cable assemblies with a high degree of accuracy Route connectors to power supply, components, and chassie assembly of electrical drawers; strong route wire/multi-pin assembly Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions project includes rectangular and circular connectors of over 100 pins Utilize various hand tools and assembly equipment to complete tasks efficiently Conduct quality control checks and inspections on assembled components Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and productivity Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines Identify and report any defects or issues in materials or processes Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly processes Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 6+ years of experience in the Aerospace industry working on cable harnesses or electronic assembly 6+ years of hands-on interpreting aerospace blueprints, routing wires, and electronic assemblies Proficiency in cable harness assembly techniques and PCB population Strong soldering skills with attention to detail Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Experience using hand tools and assembly equipment Knowledge of quality control and inspection techniques in electronics manufacturing Familiarity with IPC standards for electronics assembly Technical certification in electronics assembly J Standard IPC preferred Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.

Examples of Essential Functions: Able to operate either mechanical equipment, coating equipment, welding equipment. The mechanical equipment may use compressed air, or gases (oxygen, nitrogen), cooling water, and electrical power. Will operate both manual, and semi-automatic equipment. Be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications Capable of using measurement equipment (metrology) including calipers, micrometers, profilometers, and temperature measuring devices (pyrometer, hand-held). Candidate will inspect surface of the part visually for defects and compliance with specifications using micrometers, calipers, profilometers, or related devices. Operates blasting equipment to clean and prepare the surface of materials and components. Prepares and mask parts with tooling, fixtures, and rubber/metal masks prior to coating. Cleans and maintains mechanical equipment, operator consoles, fixtures and blast cabinet. Qualifications Guidelines Experience/Training/Education: Required: Experience with calipers and micrometers is a plus. At least 1 year experience working in manufacturing. Three to five years of experience preferred. Desirable: Prior experience with a robotic is a plus but not a requirement. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, written part specifications and equipment operating procedures. Physical and Environmental Elements: The incumbent generally works indoors where she/he is regularly exposed to moving parts, fumes, or airborne particles. The incumbent is exposed to the risk of electrical shock on a frequent basis due to the machinery operated. On an occasional basis the incumbent is exposed to caustic or toxic chemicals. The incumbent will be fitted for a respirator mask and will use it when needed. Due to the machinery in use, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided. To facilitate the machining process, the incumbent regularly stands, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reaches with hands and arms and talks or hears. On occasion, the incumbent is required to walk and climb on a low platform. In addition, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
