Job Description The Production Worker role is a vital part to the overall operations to the plant. And the experience you have may make you a perfect fit to join our team. You will be called upon to assist with, and may be assigned work in, any area of the plant, including coating lines, slitting, shipping, receiving, paint vault, and packaging. Some of your Responsibilities include: Retrieves and transports bare coils and maintains flow of metal to lines by safely operating cranes, fork lifts, and upenders without damaging material or equipment. Trims, packages and bands finished coils according to customer specifications using proper skids, bands, pads, and wrapping materials. Inspects coils and identifies and reports defects. Reads and interprets production schedules. Accurately identifies proper skid and package specified on schedules. Reads and accurately records coil weights, order numbers, etc. Loads or unloads received or shipped coils onto or off of trucks. Qualifications Qualifications As the selected candidate, you will need a high school level reading and writing, visual acuity to read labels, meters, gauges, documents and instructions, in addition to the following: Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules, etc. Ability to effectively communicate with all members of team. Ability to safely operate small manual and electric hand tools. Available to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts, that could include weekends and holidays. Assemblers are responsible for producing conforming components that meet all blueprint dimensions within the said tolerances; any moving parts must operate correctly. Cleanliness and preservation of internal components must be maintained along with the final appearance of the component. All SOP's and WI's must be followed and a safe, clean and organized work area must be maintained. Experience/Skills Perform pre-clean room wash operations and follow appropriate procedures for clean room entry with materials. Perform complex assembly operations using a variety of tools and equipment within a clean room environment. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished component. Use torque wrenches and understands torque methods and sequencing. Use precision measuring instruments. Install thread inserts, keenserts and fasteners. Operate and trouble shoot equipment used in assembly operations. Perform material handling functions using material handling equipment within the clean room. Enter correct data into data collection system (IDC) and ensure accurate labor reporting. Understand and properly operate the "Available Documents" program. Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of equipment and work area on a daily basis. Communicate with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities. Requirements High School degree or GED equivalent required. Vocational school education or at least one year of prior full-time employment in assembly within an industrial setting. Prior experience in a clean room environment preferred. Must be able to wear all required clean room gowning and PPE for extended periods of time and follow all clean room operation requirements. The assembly technician fits and assembles parts and fittings, such as bodies, balls and handles, keyways, and components in valve assemblies.
