Job Description
The role of the Production Worker is to perform necessary functions in order to efficiently, safely, and correctly prepare and process raw material to prepare it for cooking or cut & package finished product in preparation for shipment to customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of this position shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
General

Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
Ensure product conforms to specifications.
Prevent and minimize rework and/or inedible.
May require working on taping machines, shrink wrap machines, pallet jacks, trash and recycling compactors.
Perform standard operating procedures of production and inspection functions as directed.
Successfully complete all necessary technical training and skills verification as directed.
Successfully complete all necessary soft skills training as directed.
Return from breaks in a timely manner; notify lead/foreman/supervisor before leaving the department.
Accurately complete all necessary paperwork as directed.
Attend all department and company scheduled meetings.
Works scheduled shift as assigned.
Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area.
Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor.
Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities.
Perform all required duties within OSHA and company safety standards.
Follows set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.

Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition.

Add ingredients to batch and verify against formulations in Blending system.
Move meat into machine(s) and/or combos and/or v-mags using appropriate tools and techniques
Load meat racks, push meat trucks from one area to another, visually monitoring meat for quality.
Maintain accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks.

Count and place packages in appropriate caddies, maintaining accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks.
Handling finished product, placing it continuously in trays or assembly lines to be shipped to our customers.
Making pallets by stacking boxes onto pallets, preparing the pallet with cardboard wrapping, manually shrink wrapping, and pulling/pushing pallets with manual pallet jack.

Deco Products was established in 1960 in downtown Decorah. The name Deco comes from the first 4 letters of DECOrah. Deco Products is the largest stand-alone dedicated zinc die caster in North America.
Zinc castings are used in many diverse products and our customer base is equally diverse. A few of our primary markets are office furniture, window and door products and components for commercial vehicles and the RV market. A few specific examples are legs for office partitions, office chair brackets, brake valve components for semi-trucks, sash locks for windows and window operators for motorhomes. We also have products that go into the electrical industry, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and an extensive line of broom and mop components.
The Secondary Assembly Associate will be responsible for assembly and perform secondary operations on parts that are purchased and die cast.

Move meat into machine(s) and/or combos and/or v-mags using appropriate tools and techniques
Load meat racks, push meat trucks from one area to another, visually monitoring meat for quality.
Maintain accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks.
Ready to Eat:
Count and place packages in appropriate caddies, maintaining accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks.
Handling finished product, placing it continuously in trays or assembly lines to be shipped to our customers.
Making pallets by stacking boxes onto pallets, preparing the pallet with cardboard wrapping, manually shrink wrapping, and pulling/pushing pallets with manual pallet jack.

Cut Floor Specialties:
Cut, debone, trim, and remove undesirable materials from product using knives and hooks; sharpen, maintain, and sanitize knives, as required
Prepare and adjust product to flow correctly into the laser cutter and/or other sorting and processing equipment
Understand daily production objectives and create products to specifications and customer needs
Packaging Floor Specialties:
Fold and prepare cardboard boxes for product storage and/or shipping; inform Shipping if more boxes are needed from storage
Complete final product inspection: use a knife or scissors to remove undesirable materials missed in previous steps, as needed
Monitor cut floor processes and collect product from the end of the production lines, as needed
Safely operate all packaging equipment including vacuum and box sealers; manually wrap product with plastic, as needed
Weigh packed boxes and edit and print product labels according to specifications
Palletize, organize, and stage product until the Shipping Department can collect, store, and/or ship
