The Production Assembler I performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly operations, under well-defined instructions and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures.
Job Core Responsibilities:
Performs a range of routine mechanical and/or electromechanical assembly of small parts or components in accordance with company instructions and procedures
Reviews shop traveler route card, or uncomplicated schematic drawings to confirm correct sequence of operation
Position very small parts such as ceramic board, crystals, gages, fine pins, fire wire, solder particles and epoxy under binocular microscope using tweezers or positioning fixtures
Adjusts, bends, aligns and solders fine wires to resistors and base parts
Bonds or seals parts or assemblies with epoxies using direct heating elements or ovens and performs a variety of in-process testing
Demonstrates all safety policies and procedures
Other responsibilities as assigned
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.

**Job Summary:**

POSITION SCOPE/SUMMARY:
An Assembler is responsible for performing secondary operation or assembly of finished devices as part of a team or as the assembly operator. The Assembler I position is responsible for producing product that meets customer quality and on time requirements while keeping costs from time and material at or below the standard. The position has responsibility for following and ensuring that direct report knowledge of all tasks performed by Assembly.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must comply with the company's quality system, GMP, SOP and follow Work Instructions and all safety policies.

Requisition parts from materials via pick list generated in IQMS.
Request set-up as required from Assembly.

Complete POW's count parts either by hand or weigh count, generate labels, and move parts to outside packing area.
Complete Close-Out Line Clearance form and submit to Supervisor or Lead along with scrap reports and requests to return to stock.
Must be able to use IQMS, Real Time Inventory.
Meets regularly with the Shift Supervisor or Lead to ensure communications within the shifts.

The Assembler I is an entry level position primarily responsible for performing secondary operation or assembly of finished devices as part of a team or as the assembly operator. The Assembler is responsible for producing product that meets customer quality and on time requirements while keeping costs from time and material at or below the standard. The position has responsibility for following and ensuring that direct report knowledge of all tasks performed by Assembly.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must comply with the company's quality system, GMP, SOP and follow Work
Instructions and all safety policies.
Must be able to meet all company documentation requirements.
Requisition parts from materials via pick list generated in IQMS.
Request set-up as required from Assembly.
Inspect components prior to assembly to verify that product is acceptable prior to performing any additional operation.
Set up work area.
Submit product to Quality Assurance for First Article inspection.
Perform all assembly tasks at or below time standards on BOM.
Complete POW's count parts either by hand or weigh count, generate labels, and move parts to outside packing area.
Complete Close-Out Line Clearance form and submit to Supervisor or Lead along with scrap reports and requests to return to stock.
Must be able to use IQMS, Real Time Inventory.
Meets regularly with the Shift Supervisor or Lead to ensure communications within the shifts.
Complies with all company safety and housekeeping policies, rules and regulation.
Complies with all departmental policies, procedures and work instructions relevant to a particular assignment.
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends.
Willing to work any other assigned duties including operator jobs as instructed by Supervisor or Lead.
Must be willing to train other employees.
Must provide relief for breaks and lunches as needed.
Must be safety conscious and work in a safe manner at all times. Follow all safety rules and standards.
Maintain clean working environment throughout production and assembly areas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally within the medical or pharmaceutical industries.
Previous Assembly experience preferred
Basic mathematical skills
Computer skills as required by stated accountabilities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Other: Provide overtime coverage for alternate shifts or weekends as required
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
