Wire Harness Assembler Reports to: Director of Operations Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt RESPONSIBILITIES Lays wire on harness board and ties wires together to form wire harness used for aircraft electrical and electronic systems. Builds electrical assemblies and subassemblies for installation on aircraft. Installs instruments and accessory equipment to aircraft instrument panel according to specifications.
ADDITIONAL GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Puts numbers on wires. Selects wire gauge as specified by wiring number system and electrical schematics and lays them out per harness board. Terminates wires at connectors and terminal strips by crimping or soldering. Applies wire protection as necessary. Applies tie wraps to harness. May repair or rework Harness Board. Assembles and tests ad repairs electrical assemblies and subassemblies. Populates instrument panels with standard and optional instruments and equipment. Records serial numbers. May do simple installation of minor parts on aircraft under instruction. Maintains tools and test equipment.
Trains other workers. Serves as consultation resource with other workers. Observes all safety regulations. Other duties as required.

Ability to read and work from schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
