SUMMARY: Performs production and material handling operations by performing the below duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Sets-up and operates production and material handling equipment. • Loads materials with production and material handling equipment. • Identifies and marks materials and product to maintain required identification, classification, and traceability. • Completes required documentation of production and material handling processes. • Checks weighments. • Operates bag sealer to seal bags. • Performs proper bag sealing (lift bags to sealer platform, place open end in sealer, press air out of bags) • Checks bags for proper seal and product code. • Lifts bags from sealer platform and places bags in shipping bin. • Assist Lead Operator as needed during the setup of each production run • Ensures materials are placed on the platform in the correct position for each hopper/feeder • Keeps hoppers filled and empty them during changeovers • Aware of production line needs to ensure it does not run out of material • Communicates with the Lead Operator of the material needs of the production line • Print product identification on the Material Handling Prep Sheet during setup of each production run • Performs a physical setup check using the Chemical Setup Sheet • Labels bags. • Weighs chemicals to proper specification. • Correct problems on the line caused by chemical over/under weighments • Notify Lead Operator or Supervisor when errors on production line happen repeatedly • Report to the lead operator any nonconforming material or excessive waste • Must comply with quality procedures. • Performs production floor housekeeping duties. • Complies with company policies. • Performs various other tasks as assigned by the Lead Operator, Assistant Supervisor and/or Supervisor. • Employees must report to work and work the designated work schedule - failure to do so creates the inability of our company to meet customer's orders.
