Required to log into jobs and record production data. This includes closing open work orders and whipping orders to finished good for shipping. Read work orders or production schedules to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting lines, or dimensions and tolerances. Position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct workpieces, using hand tools and measuring devices. Set stops on machine beds, change dies, and adjust components, such as rams or power presses, when making multiple or successive passes. Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data. Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. Responsible for machine change over and appropriate material setup. Examine work area at beginning and ending of each shift and during any machine changeover for safety and proper operations. Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws. Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Safely and efficiently prepares material for shipping. This includes proper identification, tagging and wrapping. Required to be a team player and collaborate with various departments to meet customer satisfaction. Physical demands: Standing: Prolonged periods of standing on production floor (up to 8-10 hours per shift). Walking: Frequent walking around production and packaging areas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Stripping forms by pulling finished cured goods off of forms and loading onto trailer. Cleaning forms after product is removed using a scraper, steel wool, shovels, sanders, solvents, etc. Setting up forms for pouring, including cutting and placing rebar, pulling or stressing rebar strand, tying mesh, and installing imbeds (including plates, vectors and core walls) and setting side rails. Pouring concrete, including placing, raking, and shoveling concrete. Finishing concrete using various tools/methods such as smooth float, steel trowel, brooming, raking and power trowels to achieve a desired finish. Sandblasting Duties Locating products stored in the Yard that have been approved for sandblasting. Sandblasting concrete surfaces according to the specifications of approved designs. Follows instructions, guidelines and procedures timely and accurately. Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies. Performing plant cleanup/housekeeping including putting away tools, sweeping debris and cleaning cluttered areas. Adhering to safety standards. Operating and maintaining man-lift, and other machinery including overhead cranes Driving yard vehicles, including truck, trailer, tractor and/or Tucker/Redimix truck on company grounds. Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor. Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly. Suggest improvements; continuously improve the quality of all support activities. Perform all required duties within OSHA and company safety standards. Follows set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP's). Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary. Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper disposition. Keep record of products used to follow FIFO (first in - first out). Ready to Eat: Count and place packages in appropriate caddies, maintaining accurate records, washing and sanitizing carts, racks, and trucks. Handling finished product, placing it continuously in trays or assembly lines to be shipped to our customers. Making pallets by stacking boxes onto pallets, preparing the pallet with cardboard wrapping, manually shrink wrapping, and pulling/pushing pallets with manual pallet jack. Actual wages will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, and candidate skill set and experience.
