WORK PERFORMED:
* Work from written and verbal instructions to lay out, assemble and install prefabricated sheet, tubular, machined, mechanical, and formed parts to build up subassemblies and assemblies.
* Prepare mixtures of braze alloys and adhesives and apply to various assemblies prior to furnace brazing. Prepare and apply proper stop-off.
* Perform complete setup for any cell size and operate core fabricating machines to fabricate metal honeycomb cores per specifications.
* Hand finish machined and other parts and assemblies to close tolerances, involving varied contours, holes, radii, angles, and flanges.
* Operate material pouring equipment and such processing equipment as degreasers, metal finishing machines and ovens.
* Identify materials, parts and assemblies as required.
* Prepare surfaces of parts and assemblies prior to painting. Includes cleaning, sanding, and masking.
* Operate on-line, computer-aided x-ray equipment where film developing, and certification are not required.
* Loads, unloads, and operates fuel control test fixtures. Verifies and records data from testing process
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ability to work from written and oral instructions

* 1+ years working in manufacturing environment
* Previous experience using hand tools/power tools

**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
+ Shipboard Experience
+ A High School Diploma or equivalent
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
+ The ability to obtain and gain access to shipyards (NAVSTA & DBIDS), undergo a background investigation and pass a drug screening.
+ A minimum of 5 years of experience using power tools, assembling both large scale and intricate mechanical assemblies.
+ Be able to obtain an OSHA certification.
+ The ability to get respirator qualified and wear proper PPE throughout their work shift.

+ The ability to work second, or thirds shift as needed and willing to work more than 40 hours work weeks.
+ The ability to work high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking, lift 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position.
+ Attention to safety (which is critical)
