The Production Prep team member is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations in the back plant. This role involves metal fabrication, including cutting, drilling, and punching, as well as welding (certification preferred but not required). The position requires cross-training across multiple production tasks to ensure seamless workflow and efficiency in the fabrication of door headers and other components. Skills & Abilities Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment. Basic welding skills (MIG, TIG, or Stick welding experience preferred but not required). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor fabrication issues. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing preferred. Experience working with metal cutting, drilling, and punching machinery is a plus. Willingness to undergo training and cross-train in multiple production areas. Work Environment Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. Work performed around machinery, tools, and moving equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as necessary. Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and teamwork.
