JOB SUMMARY
Performs a variety of light assembly operations using drawing schematics and diagrams to assemble components or sub-assemblies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
• Gathers parts, sub-assemblies, screws, bolts, rivets, nuts, and other fasteners and materials.
• Uses general shop equipment such as huck guns, impact guns and tools, hammers, wrenches and a variety of other pneumatic hand-tools.

•Build side walls, back walls, floor assembly, bunk assembly, router operation, and right hand drive floors.
• Meets production and quality standards in fast-paced, repetitive environment.
• Maintains a clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Contributes to team effort be accomplishing related results as needed.
• This job description reflects the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Additional duties and responsibilities may be required, based upon business needs, at any time with or without notice.

QUALIFICATIONS
• High school level education or equivalent and specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.
• Strong attention to detail able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to meet production and quality standards.
• Ability to work on assignments that are repetitive in nature and may be moderately complex.
• Decision making and judgment is required to perform quality checks.
• Positive attitude and the ability to function in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nor-Lake assembly specialist job description


Weekend shift: 5 am - 5 pm, Friday-Sunday. 2nd shift: 3:30 pm - 2:00 am, Monday - Thursday. Overtime may be required.


Following are examples of job duties:

  • Reads blueprints and assembly instructions
  • Measures distances for placement of components within subassemblies
  • Uses hand tools to drill holes and perform other modifications
  • Assembles walk-in sections for foaming including those that contain wood pieces, special locks and strikes, cut-outs, ramps, etc.
  • Cleans all excess foam from the foamed sections
  • Determines appropriate information labels based on blueprints or assembly instructions (e.g. UL stickers, serial numbers, etc.) and places them on completed sections
  • Cleans foreign material from the rails and pallets
  • Checks for defects in component parts and reports them to the supervisor
  • Performs housekeeping around his/her work area

The job requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic computation including fractions
  • Skill in manipulating and interpreting a tape measure
  • Skill in reading and interpreting floor plans, blueprints and assembly instructions
  • Skill in using small hand and power tools
  • Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions and company policies
  • Ability to evaluate and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate with others in a professional and productive manner
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
