SUMMARY Assembles machines, equipment, and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Travel for installation and service (in the US and abroad) as required to service customers. • Service and support for local customer base, as well. • Plans assembly procedures, following blueprints and schematic drawings and specifications. • Assembles equipment with bolts, welds, or other fastening devices to foundation or other structures. • Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test proper movement. • Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems. • Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears using alignment & measurement tools to insure proper assembly tolerances. • Performs welding and fabrication of pipe, structural, and tube construction. • Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job may occasionally require supervisory responsibility of Assembly Tech I orAssembly Tech II positions if required to complete a job.
Qualifications
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Trade school program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to travel. Position requires excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with customers, other employees and supervisors.
