The Assembler III is a member of the assembly team and is responsible for following standard work to assemble a wide variety of mechanical units in a safe manner. The Assembler III works as member of the larger plant assembly team and may flex to any of the departments or work stations as volume dictates. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Utilize standard work to assemble mechanical support assemblies in a safe and quality conscious manner eliminating risk of damage.
Meet daily production goals as assigned.
Safely operate JIB cranes to lift, move, and position components.
Assist with the replenishment and organization of the work area.
Build and fabricate units according to blue prints and shop drawings
Actively learn all skills necessary to become a world class assembler.
Follow all safety requirements regarding tools and PPE.
Maintains and sustain 5's in the department.
Actively acquire skills and ability to support the highest quality standards.
Flex to other areas as needed demonstrating teamwork and a commitment to team success
Perform all other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
NATURE & SCOPE
Reports to the Team Leader, Station Leader or other supervisor as assigned for the Assembly department.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Competent in math including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractional computations, and fraction to decimal conversions.
Ability to use hand held measuring tools including tape measure, micrometer, and protractor.
Competent in reading blue prints and reference drawings.
Working command of the English language, both written and spoken.
Safely use drills, nail guns, impact wrench and other small power tools as required.
Know how to correctly fill out In Process Inspections and any other paperwork as required.
Demonstrated ability to operate JIB cranes; achieved through required certification.
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, lift trucks and jib cranes as required.
Knowledge of all safety requirements and adherence to safety standards.

As an Advanced Mechanical Technician, some of your essential duties and responsibilities may include:
* Able to perform preventative maintenance checks on press and die sets as well as make equipment repairs and adjustments to machine tools and equipment as required.
* Performs activities related to the production of forming and drawing metal including the operation of support equipment.
* Visually inspects product during production to ensure product meets print and quality specifications. Utilizes in-process inspection gages and forms, for dimensional verification and documentation. Segregates all scrap material into its proper containers. Identifies and submits product samples to Quality Assurance for Start-up and In-Process inspection during production in accordance with the requirements.
* Operates all standard press room machinery including peripheral press equipment and production support equipment.
* Works with toolmakers to troubleshoot metal forming and drawing problems related to feeding, scrap logs and disposition, part ejection, part conveying, and product dimensional nonconformance.
* Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment, as required, in accordance with documented procedures.
* Ability to understand all Metal Forming processes (sequence of operation, components, etc.) and be the technical resource for this area. Responsibilities include, but not limited to 1) assist product/tooling changeovers, 2) troubleshooting, 3) coaching/training new hires 4) machine rebuilds.
* Use precision measuring instruments to ensure product conforms to specifications. Follow established procedures for disposition of nonconforming products. Ability to perform procedures and operating steps as outlined in Quality Assurance Procedures.
* Follow the DWS autonomous & preventative maintenance procedures to ensure proper equipment function and continuity.
* Understand this position requires use and understanding of technical manuals, job procedures, and machine drawings.
* Use hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, and other material handling equipment to receive, store and transport material.
