The Test Engineer must possess a sufficient depth and knowledge of skills to support validation programs, such as assembly, instrumentation, and testing techniques in jet engine development, industrial relations, and overall leadership skills in a high paced environment. * The Test Engineer is responsible to ensure assembly operations readiness and flawless execution of test vehicle builds, tests, teardowns, and inspections. * He/she will interface with a cross functional team to ensure test and validation requirements are being met on time and within budget. * The Test Engineer will begin within Assembly Operations for all assigned programs. * Current Assembly Operations activity includes Next Generation Product Family of engines as well as advanced engine programs, operational commercial engine programs, operational military engine programs and auxiliary power units. * Frequent off-shift coverage and ability to flex schedule to cover weekends (approximately 25%) is required to support 24/7 operations. * Some travel may be required for continuous learning and to support program validation requirements. * Provide technical direction, troubleshooting, and daily coordination in executing build and teardown requirements. * Provide innovative solutions to test & validation requirements, often in a high-pressure environment while working with some supervision. * Opportunity to join a talented multi-disciplinary organization while working with highly skilled hourly and salaried employees, as well as partners and customers. * Willingness to expand their Test Engineer knowledge beyond assembly to support engines in all validation phases: planning, test, data analysis and some opportunities at flight test. Qualifications You Must Have: * AA/AS degree in a technical discipline such as Airframe and Power Plant Certification or 5+ years of relevant industry or military experience in manufacturing, engine or airframe, or product validation work environment. * U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract. * Security clearance or the ability to obtain one is required. Qualifications We Prefer: * Experience with jet engine hardware, assembly, and/or testing; as well as knowledge of engine performance and test data analysis. * Strong communication skills, self-starter, self-driven. * Experience with continuous improvement processes. * Self-motivation to plan required tasks and lead a team to achieve significant goals with little outside direction. * Flexibility to adapt to fluid customer requirements, priorities, and schedules.
