JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lives the Owens Corning Safety Stand and meets all safety requirements. Safety is a condition of employment.
* Participates in the safety, quality, and housekeeping programs as established within the plant.
* Performs job tasks to reduce environmental impact and adheres to the environmental regulations and recycling procedures for waste disposal.
* Complies with all plant rules, safety regulations and job hazard analysis (JHA) requirements.
* Performs cleanup duties at equipment areas, workstations, etc.
* Performs core job duties and operates machinery in various production areas
* Performs alternating production activities at various stages in the manufacturing process to ensure that product output is achieved in accordance with quality standards.
* Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, inputs and outputs (i.e. KMI's in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and staffing).
* Analyzes and troubleshoots equipment and performance issues to ensure Operating Efficiencies (OE) and Job Efficiencies (JE) are achieved.
* Performs maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and increased uptime.
* Monitors the specific KPI's/KAI's required by the job; reacts to upset conditions and escalates when necessary.
* Maintains an uncompromising adherence to 5S standards; keeps the work area and equipment clean.
* Collaborates with team members and participates in team discussions to achieve the goals of the plant.
* Proactively makes suggestions/proposals to strive for continuous improvement of plant performance.
* Assists with the on-boarding of new employees.
* Trains other team members to perform job duties as needed.
* Demonstrates flexibility to perform various job roles within the manufacturing process as assigned.
* Provides relief to positions of prior qualification as required.

MB Superabrasives is a Columbia-based manufacturer specializing in precision abrasives. We are looking for a motivated, hard-working individual to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with vacuum furnace operation and troubleshooting as well as meet the requirements below.
Duties of the Diamond Coating/Vacuum Furnace Technician include:
Cleaning substrates to prepare for coating
As required apply a boundary mask to meet print dimensions
Apply industrial abrasive to the surface(s) and stage the product for high heat cycles
Operate equipment for secondary operations including vacuum furnaces
Applicant must be able to review production drawings and measure steel components to ensure the product is accurate using micrometers and calipers. You must also be able to maintain production rates and follow production schedules.
Qualifications
Basic part drawing knowledge
Good hand and eye coordination
Artistic abilities needed for coating as well as jeweler style applications
Repetitive coating practices for production tools
Able to record data for each shop order to meet ISO requirements
Able to run a lathe and complete light machining
Good mechanical skills
Experience with GD&T practices preferred utilizing run-out and concentricity
Working knowledge of a quality system and ISO 9001 is a plus

Key Job Responsibilities
* Assembles according to customer's needs, by following Process Design Sheets and other written or verbal specifications.
* Assures and maintains specified torque and tension by proper setting of torque wrenches.
* Checks incoming parts and outgoing assembly for deformation or scratches, and reports non-conforming parts/product to supervision
* Mounts and connects auxiliary, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment; cuts and fits parts, hoses, and tubing together.
* Removes small quantities of metal, using hand files or portable grinders, to produce close fits between parts.
* Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and checks them to test for free movement
* Works as a team member and co-operates with co-workers.
* Operates overhead cranes or Jib cranes safely in order to move and set large parts to machine or fixture.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
* Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum 1year related experience preferred. Minimum of 1year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
* Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, power tools etc.
* Some standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
* Forklift certification preferred.
* Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company.
* Incumbent may be required to work overtime as required to meet schedules.
* Must comply with all environmental, quality and safety rules, practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Product & Process Support:
* Assist engineers with the design, build, testing, and validation of components, assemblies, and systems.
* Support prototype development and perform functional and durability testing.
* Document and analyze test data and provide feedback to engineering for process and product improvements.
* Participate in new product introduction (NPI) activities, including process setup and validation.
Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:
* Support manufacturing process improvements to increase efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Equipment & Tooling:

Qualifications:
* Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred.
* High school diploma with equivalent hands-on technical experience will also be considered.
* Experience: 2-5 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred).
* Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, blueprints, and schematics.
* Experience with test equipment, measurement tools, and data collection systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
* Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
