Verifies equipment safety and accuracy for continued use.Documents all work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Ensures documentation is accurate complete and timely. Provides monthly reports as needed.Provides clear concise and timely follow up with colleagues ensuring they know the status of work being performed on their equipment. May provide technical in-service or instruction to facility staff in proper operation of patient care equipment on an as-needed basis.Provides basic support of acuity equipment for direct patient care.Reviews department/unit operations manual to ensure compliance with applicable Joint Commission standards federal and state regulations accepted Standards of Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Program. Complies with all MedStar Health Policies and Procedures Corporate Compliance Program Standards of Conduct and all applicable statutes rules and regulations.Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Maintains department facilities equipment and materials in a condition that promotes efficiency health comfort and safety of patients and staff.Proactively suggests improvement ideas to simplify processes and assists in policy or procedure implementation. Minimal Qualifications Education * Associate's degree in biomedical equipment technology electronics or related field required or * military training or academic work or actual work experience aligned with AAMI's Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician required Experience * 1-2 years Experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and systems OR similar experience in a technical-related field. required Knowledge Skills and Abilities * Knowledge of basic electricity/electronics principles. Knowledge of hospital and department procedures and operations. * Ability to anticipate tasks and prioritize assignments. * Ability to input data into computer programs. * Ability to travel between sites as necessary. * Ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers. Knowledge of basic electricity/electronics principles. Knowledge of hospital and department procedures and operations. * Knowledge of word processing spreadsheet and database software. * Provides hospitable customer service. * Skilled in the use of basic hand tools and testing equipment. * Ability to communicate professionally. * Knowledge of Joint Commission and other regulatory agency's accreditation requirements.
