This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit's Defense Business Unit ("Spirit Defense"). Key Accountabilities:
* Assemble, form, functional test and inspection of parts and assemblies into end-items, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Perform tasks such as multi-tasking where applicable.
* Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information.
* Use shop mathematics and precision measuring and or test instruments to complete work assignments and functional test assemblies and components.
* Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
* Verify work performed is per work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specification. Identify discrepancies found per applicable procedure.
* Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
* Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g., where applicable, replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels, etc. as related to basic Total Preventative Maintenance duties).
* Routinely move product within the immediate manufacturing work area, including across isle, using shop assigned equipment as required, and complete transactions necessary to move product to the next operation. On an exception basis, move product to the next operation within a building.
* Perform work within allotted schedules.
* Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees at all classification levels.
* Assist in the training of other assembly personnel in assembly, installation and inspections techniques.
* Cross trains in inspection and becomes SIA qualified.
Requirements:
* Ability to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance and Customer Program Access
* Candidates must also possess the willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as required as well as the ability to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, and in confined spaces, as well as walk on open floor beams, climb on stairs/scaffolding, crawl/kneel in workstation, and lift/move parts and/or tools.
* All applicants must be willing and able to work any shift, including alternative work weeks. New hires will be trained on 1st shift for 2-3 months then moved to 2nd shift.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Candidates will possess a minimum of 6 months of aircraft structural sheet metal experience or have successfully completed Aero Structural Training.
* Operate measurement and testing equipment, machines, and devices in accordance with established procedures.
* Load, locate, and unload, parts, and assemblies.
* Disassemble and prepare assemblies to accomplish rework, repair or change incorporation on completed assemblies. Drill, saw, file, sand, build up, trim, fit, and fasten parts to meet production requirements utilizing any required hand or power tools.
* Fabricate, assemble, and install systems elements.
* Maintain or repair tools, shop aids, equipment, and facilities as necessary to accomplish work assignments including first-level maintenance on machines and equipment.
Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay: $23.66/hour, with potential to earn up to $39.32/hour in accordance with the terms of the relevant collective bargaining agreement.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
* Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, operates, services and modifies all types of facility systems. Aligns, adjusts and services components and equipment such as compressors, electric motors, and pumps. * Performs preventive maintenance actions in accordance with applicable technical data and local procedures. Lubricates and repacks valves, lubricates pumps, replaces gaskets and seals, corrects pumping equipment misalignment, cleans or replaces strainers and filters, and services water/oil separators and other Real Property Installed Equipment. Uses hand and power tools such as jackhammers, torque wrenches, meters, gear pullers, bench grinders, hydraulic presses, pipe threading machines, cutting and welding torches, welding outfits, wrenches, micrometers, caliper power drills, vacuum pumps, portable trash pumps, powered and non-powered saws, drills, taps, and punches with drill presses and hand punches. Bench checks repairable components and sub-assemblies using test equipment, standards, and other equipment required by applicable technical data. Tests and calibrates repaired items to ensure adequacy and reliability of repair actions.
* Maintains and repairs wooden, masonry, and concrete buildings and structures; Assemblies prefabricated structures, installs and repairs plumbing systems and fixtures. Maintains and repairs the structural components of facilities, including, but not limited to, walls, flooring, ceilings, concrete footings, foundations, floor slabs, metal components for prefabricated and permanent structures, doors, window s, screens, siding, pipe systems, plumbing fixtures, roof flashing, duct work, gutters, and downspouts. Inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs structural and mechanical components of roll-up overhead doors and overhead hoists to include rollers, guides, pulleys, stops, cables, clamps, limit switches, etc. Installs, repairs, replaces and adjusts building hardware and plumbing fixtures/devices, such as hinges, hasps, locks. Hydraulic door openers and closers, heating devices, sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, traps, vents, drains, meters, fittings, couplings and unions. The assembler position performs assembly operations to produce LPG cylinders and monitors cylinders to required specifications.
Responsibilities
Gets job instructions
Handles materials to and from workstation
Gets work station and equipment ready for production
Makes minor changes and adjustments to machinery and equipment such as changing tools and, notifies leads and supervision when process out of standard operating procedure
Loads and unloads conveyor
Maintains records such as oven temperature, cooling temperature and other records as required
Verifies tools and machinery are appropriate for operation
Counts, packages and/or crates and identifies parts and products on assembly lines
May work in groups or individually as assigned
Maintains quality standards
Reports all material shortages
Maintain work area using 6S Principles
Other duties as assigned

Schedule: Day Night 6a - 6p - Night shift 6p-6a. 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off. Starts on a Monday, getting a 3 days weekend off every other week. (one week is 40 hours plus 8 hours of OT, the next week is 36 hours. Paid biweekly which averages 42 hours a week) - basically the days you work one week, you are off the following week and they rotate.

Complete repair jobs on time and meet performance metrics.
Handle related paperwork and database entries accurately (work orders, parts orders, etc.).
Remove, install, disassemble, assemble, and inspect components with minimal supervision.
Apply reusability guidelines and handle parts and core returns with proper documentation.
Perform ECM warranty downloads and diagnose/troubleshoot engine issues.
Make critical repairs and adjustments, then test for accuracy and functionality.
Conduct failure analysis to ensure proper diagnosis and repairs.
Submit accurate daily service reports and timecards.
Rebuild engines and components with minimal oversight.
Strong knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
Experience with database, internet, manufacturing, and order processing systems.
Proficient with basic hand tools, air tools, diagnostic software, and rigging equipment
