This role in summary
This position will operate and support specific automated equipment related to an assigned area. Each area has machines with industrial computers for monitoring faults, troubleshooting, and overall process operation. The Production Technician will be responsible for keeping the flow of the equipment moving. This includes reacting to faults and jam ups that cause production stoppages and inspections/gaging. Equipment and surrounding areas will be kept clean and operating correctly. Preventative/Autonomous maintenance will be performed on a routine basis.
Your responsibilities will include
* Technician will order and load material into machinery when applicable. Technician will monitor any applicable flow racks and/or kanban storage areas for potential part shortages.
* Technician will monitor the equipment and keep it running. Responsible for production output levels and quality. This includes understanding targets and monitoring digital dashboard information.
* Responding to/resetting of faults and machine stoppages and clearing of jam ups is required. Understanding the fault lights is a must.
* The Technician is responsible for part inspection, part quality and documenting information.
* Lubrication and inspection of various stations, pallets, components, etc. is required.
* Identify and escalate safety, quality and nonstandard process related issues.
* Technician will work closely with AST support personnel by highlighting any repeat issues or concerns.
* Technician will work with department supervision on changeovers, PM/AM planning and customer service. AM/PM activity will require a different break schedule at times.
* Operate basic hand tools.
* Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assemble and test IntelliRupter products based on the documentation including bills of material, blueprints and any change notices provided by the engineering staff.
Complete testing at timing stations and run switch through 4 operations station.
Complete mechanical work including disconnect assemblies.
Experience troubleshooting electrical issues
You will be performing the following tests:
Timing Test capacitor voltage 425 DC
Partial Discharge Test AC voltage 50KV
Dielectric test 3 phase AC voltage 60KV-70KV
Calibration test parallel AC voltage 8.7KV-18KV in series 600 amps.
3 phase AC high voltage 8.7KV -18KV with 20 amps - 45 amps.
Low voltage test capacitor voltage 425 DC
What you'll Need To Succeed:
High voltage electrical experience is required to run the required test cells. 5KV / 3phase
Demonstrate the ability to work from complex blueprints, wiring drawings, schematic diagrams, and specifications.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues.
Demonstrate experience using and operating machining tools, hand-held tools, wiring equipment, wrenches, torque tools, and other tools.
Must follow all S&C safety standards.
Relevant Work Experience:
Two years of experience in electronic assembly and wiring with 5KV
2-year technical degree preferred.
Candidates with electrical or mechanical trade school education may also be considered in lieu of experience

The Machine Technician is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer-controlled systems and robotic devices to manufacture products in a cost effective and timely manner, while fulfilling quality standards. The Machine Tech will complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all safety, quality and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.
Key Responsibilities
Repair, maintain and run computer-controlled systems and robotic devices.
Cross train in multiple controlled systems and robotic devices and flex to other similar departments based on business necessity. Provide training frequently to new employees and current employees learning new work areas on work instructions/standard work.
Develop and maintain an understanding of the automated equipment they use and how it impacts the business. Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require.
Routine diagnostic checks on automated systems via TPM schedule.
Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
Follow established standard work procedures, processes, and policies.
Demonstrate good attendance, quality, attention to detail and all safety policies.
Participate in team meetings to exchange job related information.
Follow proper start-up, shut down, and change over procedures.
Proficiently access information and perform transactions as needed within ERP system.
Coordinate material flow process without interruption to lines, including Kanban visual management systems.
Ability to work independently.
TPM - Total Preventative Maintenance
Troubleshoot issues and determine if problems are mechanical, electrical or from computer system controlling process. Once diagnosed, must repair, or replace necessary components with assistance from peers or supervisor depending on the level of complexity on non-high voltage electrical troubleshooting.
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, including safety, product flow, lead times, through-put, and cost.
Suggest and implement improvements of existing equipment, designs, and/or processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
Requirements
Generac internal certification, equivalent internal work experience, or external certification.
Demonstrated experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.
Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics).
Demonstrated experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc)
The ability to understand control plans, execute reaction plans, and troubleshoot guides and flow diagrams.
The ability to read and understand Engineering prints, equipment schematics and drawings.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
