The Electrical Assembler I is responsible for assembling and installing electrical components and electromechanical products according to specifications, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to safety standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Interpret electrical/mechanical schematic drawings and follow Assembly Instructions to correctly assemble electrical components such as wires, cables, connectors, switches, and circuit boards.
Perform surface mount and through-hole soldering on printed board assemblies
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and automated assembly machines to wire electrical systems according to specifications, ensuring proper connections and adherence to safety standards.
Inspect parts for defects, damage, or inconsistencies before assembly and report any issues to supervisors or quality control personnel.
Conduct basic testing procedures on assembled electrical components to ensure functionality and performance.
Identify and troubleshoot electrical assembly issues, such as wiring errors or component failures, and implement corrective measures.
Perform routine maintenance and report malfunctions or repairs to keep assembly tools and equipment in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made during assembly for quality control and traceability purposes.
Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to resolve technical issues and improve assembly processes.
Participate in improvement initiatives to enhance assembly techniques, streamline processes, and optimize efficiency.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

What you would do in this job
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform timely preventative maintenance on all fareboxes and auxiliary parts and components, which includes but not limited to the Ticket Reading/issuance Machine (TRiM) unit, Bill Transport, Coin Validator, Bill Validator, Cash Box, Garage vaults and bins.
Repair Malfunctioning Fareboxes, Vaults and bins:
Clean, repair, and/or replace defective farebox parts and components.
Process and forward defective parts that cannot be repaired at the garage to OSC for repair.
Remove jammed bills, coins, and pre-paid fare media cards from farebox and Ticket Reading/issuance Machine (TRiM) units and properly process to account for collected transit fares.
Identify and replace worn-out consumable equipment such as belts, o-rings, springs, gears, etc.
Perform non-routine repair including troubleshooting, calibration, and removal and installation of all revenue collection equipment and components.
Install Go-To card readers on buses and service or replace malfunctioning units.
Paperwork/Documentation and Security:
Complete "E-Key_White Jumper_Probe-Report" for use of electronic keys and/or probe on fareboxes.
Complete farebox removal and installation sheets and notify the Supervisor to update the records.
Maintain a secure work environment when removing, installing or repairing fareboxes.
Complete farebox maintenance report for any activity performed, e.g., repair, installation, removal, etc.
Complete all maintenance reports, and other documentation, both manually and computerized.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Any of the following combinations of work experience (in repairing electronic or mechanical equipment) and completed education (degree field of study in electronics or mechanical repair or closely related field (such as automated systems and robotics, electromechanical technology; or other industrial arts program that includes preparation in mechanics, engineering and technology).

Major Areas of Accountability:
* Assembles rotor assembly on synchronous, induction/turbo and laminated spider jobs
* Assembles exciter rotor and stators
* Rectifier assembly, steel, glastic and turbo diode wheels.
* Final assembly of synchronous, vertical, turbo generator and induction motors.
* Other sub assembly, such as FDR Assembly (spool wound), main terminal box assembly and GDS transmitter and exciter field power supply assembly.
* Does layout, fabrication and assembly of conduit and piping.
* Arc weld assemblies and sub-assemblies
* Set up and operate balance stand, large and Static
* Engraves and places name plates and green tags equipment
* Works in other areas of the Assembly Team skills matrix, may prepare and paint product, procure lumber, shipping cartons, shipping supplies and tools. May prepare and package shipments in boxes, skids/crates.
* Completes necessary QA/Customer documentation.
* Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane.
* Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work.
* Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:
* High School degree or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
* Strong mechanical aptitude
* Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation.
* Ability to effectively communicate and work in small teams to assemble product
Physical Requirements:
* Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 20 lbs.
* Occasionally lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs.
* Routinely ascends/descends ladders and stairs.
* Occasionally works at heights or on platforms.
* Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces.
* Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.

Salary:
* 1st Shift; salary range $20.00 hourly to $25.00 hourly
* 2nd Shift salary range $20.00 hourly to $25.00 hourly (plus $2.00/hour differential)
* Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time.
Pay Types
$2.00 Shift Differential
Voluntary weekend overtime.
Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time!
