Selects and installs torch, torch tip and flux, according to soldering specifications or type and thickness of metal. Connects and turns regulator valves to activate and adjust gas flow and pressure to obtain desired flame. Ignites torch. Cleans and prepares parts or components in accordance to specifications prior to assembly. Heats workpiece to required temperature, using hand torch. Positions workpieces and clamps together or assembles in jigs or fixtures. Inspects finished workpiece for conformance to specifications. Cleans parts using wire brush, portable grinder, or chemical bath post brazing. Hydrostatically tests system to required pressure and inspects for leaks. Repairs any leaks that are found during the hydro test process. Spray paints piping to customer required color. Breaks down fully completed skid system and prepares it for shipping using crates and other packing materials.
