The Assembly Mechanic is responsible for mechanically assembling systems and connecting electrical components, controls, and panels safely in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade. Assembly mechanics will conform to schematics and blueprints that meet quality standards.

Job Responsibilities
* Assemble the components such as; valves, piping, instrumentation, vessels and pumps into a single Vacuum Pump System
* Operate industrial sit-down forklifts while maintaining daily inspection sheets
* Maintain high quality standards of products
* Weld carbon steel piping, weld and fabricate structural modifications
* Prepare time, production and inventory records as required
* Maintain qualification and management authorization to work within the limited approach boundary of electrically energized circuits
* Verify safe electrical wiring of pumps and systems prior to energizing circuits for test
* Install appropriate boundaries and signage for affected employees prior to energizing electrical circuits
* Electrically energize circuits for pumps and systems to record amperages and voltages as necessary
* Maintain authorized status for lock out/tag out practices and maintain appropriate training and classifications to perform assigned tasks
* Facilitate above processes and procedures while maintaining measurable and productive output
* Assist with the implementation and maintenance of continuous improvement and Lean activities to improve flow and reduce waste
Required Experience
* High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
* 4+ years of experience in heavy industrial assembly or equivalent trade school: Required
* 1+ years of experience in hands-on assembly or service of vacuum systems or related equipment and at least 1 years of related warehousing experience: Preferred
* Ability to read and understand complicated mechanical drawings/specifications, measurement instrumentation and gauges: Preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office software: Required

Job Overview
The role of the Engineering Technician I (Shipboard) is to provide day-to-day Shipboard installation support for a variety of RF, audio, video, navigation, and communication system installations. This position reports to the Installation Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
* Working with SPAWAR ISEAs and other technical codes, program/project managers, and SMEs, the Engineering Technician I (Shipboard) will assist with the Shipboard installation and integration of complex audio/visual displays, various communication and electronic warfare systems, related ancillary and computer-based systems onboard naval ships and command centers worldwide.
Accountable For:
* We expect this employee to have experience in and be familiar with work being performed in or around industrial environments such as shipyards and Naval/Coast Guard bases and piers. As well as various and subcontractor Government sites.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
* Must be a U.S. citizen.
* Must have or be able to obtain a minimum Secret security clearance.
* Must have a minimum of 3 years of Shipboard installation/integration experience.
* Must have a High School diploma.
* Must be willing to travel up to 75% CONUS/OCONUS.
* Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
* Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record upon request.
* Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Working Conditions:
* This is a full-time position in support of the Chugach integration and installation tasking team lead. The work may be performed at (Location TBD), industrial areas to include; shipyard, Navy/Coast Guard bases, shipboard and shore site locations.
* Work is performed inside industrial environments and is subject to working around exposures to hazards that may cause bodily harm, cuts, bruises, burns, etc.
* Work may also be performed outside, even during inclement weather.
* Work may be performed at heights (aloft) where fall protection is required.
* Work may be performed, including welding and cutting of metal.
* Work may be performed off a ladder.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift 45 lbs., climb vertical ladders, operate, and work around heavy machinery.
* Work at heights (aloft).
* Operate power tools safely.
* Carry equipment and machinery around ships.
* Ability to stand and walk most of the shift.
* Kneel and crawl at the work site.
* Crouch through void openings.
